CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

Like I had last time, I ran down the tunnel, and burst out into the open with my carry on banging behind me. Yankee land I thought happily. I stopped dead, though, at the sight of the solid wall of screaming girls. I stood for a split second, and took off running back through the tunnel.

"They're here! Heeeeeelllllppppp!" I screamed. I grabbed a male flight attendent, and demanded he tell the pilots to take off again.

"I'm sorry, but they can't-" he was trying to say.

"But there're fans out there!" I yelled like I was talking about rubbish.

"Fans?" he asked, confused. I pushed him aside, marching into the plane ready to throttle the pilots, but stopped as Jamie grabbed my arm.

"They're everywhere. Get used to it, Kris. We're in Hanson's domain, now." she told me, her face pale.

I instantly grew up. "You're right. You okay?" I asked her, noting her pale complexion.

She nodded and gulped.

"Let's boogey." I said, and we linked arms.

Zac rushed by, and yelled behind him "I wouldn't do that. They'll think you're gay."

I shouted after him "They think you're gay anyway!" but we unlinked our arms.

Jessica pulled a brush through her hair, and stepped out of the tunnel into the screaming mass.

We followed, and I grinned happily. I got that sudden rush of adrenaline I always got before performing. The security guards tried to keep back the crowd, but it surged forward, and we were engulfed.

My ears popped from the noise. It was louder than a fleet of jumbo jets parked in your head. I could feel my eyeballs rattle in my head.

"Shut the fuck up!" I screamed at the girls. They didn't listen, and tried to grab a piece of me that had probably grabbed a piece of Hanson. One girl even pulled my bra strap.

"Ow!" I shrilled, and tried to shove through the crowd. The crowd shoved back. I looked around helplessly, and saw a familiar face that looked ready to cry.

"Zac!" I screamed, my voice blending with the other cries. "CAZ!!" I screamed as loud as humanly possible.

Zac turned, and relief flooded over him as he saw Kris. Her face was tight, and she looked angry. "SRIK!!!" he screamed at her. She grinned, and began to shover her way over to him, hand outstretched.

I was making way when he disappeared beneath a wave of hormonal females. "Zac!" I cried again, panicking. Finally after what seemed like years, I somehow managed to shove my way in. I found him on the floor, arms sheltering his head from the painful blows of his fans. Millions of hands pulled at his clothes, jerking his body every which way, and I grew angry.

"No. Leave me alone." I could see his mouth say, and I bent down to pick him up, trying hard not to fall over. My carry on fell off my shoulders, but I ignored it as I grasped his wrist.

Zac pulled back from the grasp, and tried to stay in a ball. He was panicking. He had always stuck with his brothers and now he was lost in this mayhem. It was the most frightening thing that had ever happened to him in his short life.

Someone touched his face, and he felt someone's breath against his face. He cracked open his eyes and saw Kris, hair falling into her face, green eyes wide. She was the most welcome sight.

"C'mon Dumbass." he saw her say, and he smiled slightly.

"Ugly." he murmered, and tried to get up, but couldn't.

I leaned down, and pressed myself back against the girls and hauled Zac up by the arms. Grabbing his hand with an iron grip, I began to plow through the crowd. I elbowed all the girls who tried to grab Zac, and I was severely tempted to try tai kwon do on them, but I resisted.

Zac held onto Kris' hand with both of his, ducking under the screaming. His eyes began to hurt, but he refused to cry. Hanson men don't cry.

I shoved and pushed, never letting go of the hand in mine, even when my arm ached when we nearly were pulled apart. I couldn't let him go.

All of the sudden, I shoved out into thin air but I didn't stop. I tugged Zac behind me and we ran through the wide space between us and the door to the pickup van. The van's closed door flew open, and we ran into it. The door flew shut in time.

I collasped into a heap on the seat, and Zac next to me. We gasped as if for air, and ignored the stunned looks from the others.

"Just... drive.." I panted, scared out of my wits. That was the scariest experience I had ever had in my entire life. I looked over at Zac, and saw his shuddering. "You okay, Caz?" I asked shakily.

"Yeah, Srik." he whispered, laying his head back against the seat. "You?"

"Me okies." I sighed, and leaned back as well. My heart finally slowed, and I hardly felt the light weight of Zac's hand in mine.
