CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

We ran outside into the cool calm of night. The pool. The water glinted with the light, and I plopped down on the edge.

"Ah, I'm hot." I complained, fanning my hot face.

"Go take a dip." Tay suggested sarcastically.

"Okies." I stood, pulled off my shoes, and dived in. The cold water was a shock to my hot body, and I swam through the water. I broke the top, and turned to see Taylor.

"You're freakin' nuts!" he cried.

"Yeah." I said, wiping water off my face, paddling over to him.

He sat down on his haunches, arms on his knees. "I bet that's cold." he teased, seeing me shiver.

"Wanna find out?!" I yelled, grabbing his arms. I kept my grip firm, and pushed back against the pool.

"Wha-" Taylor began, but stopped as he flew over Kris and into the pool. Okay. It was cold. That was also a BIG understatement.

I surfaced, and turned to see a drenched Taylor looking like a drowned rat. I laughed. "Haha! Rat Tayles!"

He reached out and pulled me under water. I had no breath, and my lungs were bursting as I finally came up. I swam for the side, gasping. "Why are you so intent on killing me?" I asked.

He drew up alongside. "I dunno. Seeing you so quiet- not flapping your mouth is sexy."

I laughed and nearly sank under. "It's gums."

"What?"

"Gums!"

"WHAT?!"

"Flapping your gums!" I laughed. "Gums!" (*Mmm... my fave saying!*)

Taylor laughed heartily, and I reached out to throttle him. He caught my arms, and I tried to kick away. My foot hit something.

He bent over, moaning.

I cursed. Had I hit him in the jewels? (*Mmm... jewels. *lol*)

I followed him over as he pulled alongside the edge. He rested his head against the pool, groaning.

"Look! I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!" I cried, pulling his hair from his face. That was the last I saw as he turned and pushed me under. Once again.

I kicked to the steps, and pulled myself up. I turned to find Tay pissing himself laughing.

"That didn't mean I cared for your b... ego, Taylor." I said, blushing.

"What else did it mean?" he crowed.

"That some girl in the future is gonna wanna give me a free sex change if you can't perform certain husbandly duties." I shot back, and he shut up. "Plus. I was just as worried about Ike as I was you. So don't do that."

He pulled himself out of the water, and came over to me. "Sorry." he grinned insincerely.

I pulled on my shoes, and cursed. "Damnit! I think I lost a sock in there!"

He glanced down at his sodden sneakers. "At least your shoes are dry."

"Not anymore." I said, dipping my Air Jordans into the water, making sure they were nice and wet.

"What'd you do that for?" he asked dumbly as I pulled them on.

"You'll see!" I grabbed his hand, and we squelched into the hotel.

I turned around and saw satifyingly big wet tracks across the floor. Someone yelled, and we dashed for the row of elevators.

"Not again!" Taylor yelled as we mashed any button at all. We ran along the line of elevators, pressing the buttons.

I turned to see a hotel dude running towards us.

"Up UP!" we cried, mashing the buttons even more.

"Here!" Taylor yelled, his head sticking from inside an elevator. I rammed into him, shoving us both into the elevator. We pressed all the buttons. "Up up!"

The elevator lifted, and we sighed. "God! That was close." I sighed, pushing my soaking hair back.

"Floor 7." Taylor reported as the door opened.

"Get off here." I directed, and we squelched down the hall. We took the stairs up. On floor 8, we tread a wet path down the hall to a room, and retraced back to the stairs. We did this with all the floors, even floor 12. Once we had reached floor 16, we were drying out, and we wiped our feet on the luxiourious carpet.

We went back down to floor 12, and out, treading softly, trying not the shower drops of water in the carpet.

There! We stopped in front of our rooms, and laughed.

"Think that threw 'em off?" I giggled.

"Yeah." he agreed.

They wouldn't be able to follow the wet tracks to 8 different floors, and knock doors to find two sopping wet teens.

I laughed some more, and pulled open the door to our room. "Cya Tay." I parted, and fell inside.

"Miss me?" I called.

Jessica looked up from the telly, and her mouth dropped open. "What happened to you?"
