"You're going to be okay..."
"It's all over now..."
"You're lucky..."
I barely heard the voices and my mind only played the screech of tires and the tinkle of glass and metal. Over and over.
The darkness came again...
Taylor paced up and down the hotel's foyer. "That's it! Where are they!?"
Walker Hanson shrugged. "The driver knew where to go."
"Calm down." Isaac soothed Tay.
Zac's large brown eyes grew concerned. "They wouldn't have done this."
"Maybe they got kidnapped." Ike joked, but shut up as Taylor and Zac glared at him.
"Kris would kick his ass if the driver tried that." Taylor bit his lip, ignoring the sharp look from his father. He nervously fiddled with his necklaces.
A familiar form came forward. "Mr. Hanson?"
Walker Hanson nodded. "Yes?"
It was their driver.
"I have a police radio unit in the car." he hesitated.
Walker Hanson raised his eyebrows.
"I was j- just listening to it... and I heard..."
"What?" Walker asked, eyes growing serious.
Taylor's face drained.
"The other car. It crashed down on Wilkes Pass... A young car thief... out joyriding..." the driver said softly.
Zac grew pale. "Oh, my God."
Isaac stood, stunned. "Jess?"
Walker shook his head, letting out a sigh of relief. "There must be some mistake."
The driver shook his head. "I know the license plate. Same company prefix."
Walker still shook his head.
"Dad! We need to get there, NOW!" Taylor cried, his voice cracking.
Walker smiled slightly at his hysterical children. "I don't think it's-"
"Dad." Isaac said softly. "Let's go."
Something was shoved in my face, and I blinked. I couldn't see. I only saw the bright flash of white.
"Hi cutie." someone chirped cheerily. "We're on the way to the hospital."
"Where's Jamie? Jess?" I asked, my voice rough.
"They're coming as well." the voice answered.
"What's wrong with me?" I asked.
"Not much..."
"Tell me."
"From what we can tell, a broken arm..." but I couldn't hear the rest as the black came again.
