ORION: The history

At January 20 1993, 5:35 in the afternoon, in Rafael Giordanelli's recording studio, located in the avenue 19 of April, 4 musicians met by accident and they would integrate the band in their beginnings called Anti- Régimen, their style was the punk - rock. The initial formation were the following people: Diego López, drums; Alexander Ardila, guitar; Felipe Restrepo, voice and Reinaldo Yuncosar, bass. (He was substituted by Alejandro Ardila, the guitarist's brother). From that moment the band begins with the fixed idea of making original music;they played twice in concert, after this the band dissolutes. The entering of Gregory Delgado, meant in the change in the name to Bandera Negra, in agreement with the new assumed musical tendency, a more corrosive punk. Just after a presentation the band is dissolved, as consequence of Felipe Restrepo's retirement for musical differences and the step of Gregory Delgado to the progressive heavy metal band Guerra Santa .

The band meets again at January 22, 1994, being as trio, integrated by Alexander Ardila, guitar and voice; Diego López, drums; and Alejandro Ardila in the bass. Here it is when they decide to name to the band with the name of Orión, in the mythological homonymous hunter's memory that achieved the sustenance by his own merit; analogy that was taken by the group like part of their philosophy: To reach the goals without more help than oneself. Orión reaches this way the yearned stability, so much in personal, like in style, based this in the thrash metal, hardcore and some punk. This stability lasted three years, ONE good day Alejandro Ardila decides to enter to the school of Military Aviation in Maracay, Aragua State, being vacant again the position of bassist; Javier Sepúlveda and Edgar Labrador tried to enter to the band without success, until August 31, 1996, in a concert of Ad-Libitium and Holy Pigs of Merida (Now Máquina Animal) Alex and diego contacted with Juan Francisco Iparraguirre, being covered the vacancy.

At this moment the band is working in a bigger diversity of styles that embrace from the hardcore, thrash, punk, hip-hop, until the funk. Due to this the new compositions have a bigger musical wealth; these new songs will be included in the new demo, with some old songs of the first demo tape amid the Pain, recorded at May 23 1996 in direct in the guitarist's house, the production ran for Orión, the recording technician was hender contreras of Sound-Pro, this work was carried out in one afternoon.

The band has had multiple presentations, by means of which has been able to measure the public's support, mainly in the border area and in Cúcuta, where they have been nicknamed The Venezuelan Pestilencia, evoking the famous Colombian band. Without losing the hopes, the band want to prove luck inside Colombia, where the extreme tendencies have an excellent welcome; they plans to visit Cali, Medellin and Bogotá, among other cities. Going beyond Suramérica, the demo amid the Pain has been distributed in France by means of Fred Perin, of the group Flagerants D ' Eli, Hungary for Erika Ott of Stroke Fanzine, United States by means of Saira of the group Detestation and to Antonio Trejo of the Spanish band Garrote. vil.
