The Wall
The wall is a great component of a room.
It is almost apart of every room and bedroom. Its likeness to a "gallery"
is uncanny because people come in and gaze at the images, looking for inner
meaning. Let the inspiration begin!
1) Artwork. This is not only a good outlet but it helps you come to the understanding that God did not put you on earth to draw.
2) Photocopies. Blow up your favourite pictures of Queen on a photocopier (black and white ones are more effective I find) and stick em up.
3) Print off pictures of Queen and put them up. The amount of material you are willing to use is dependant on how much printer ink you are willing to waste.
4) Album Sleeves and Inner Sleves. Bluetak excessive amounts your favourite album covers and go crazy trying to make them not fall down. Be careful with that because your covers can get damaged when they fall down. My suggestion for record covers are "Queen I", "A Day At The Races" and "Innuendo" (for more advice, check out the charts). This is why I collect LPs. I don't play the records much because I am notorious for scratching vinyl. Also, pin up inner sleeves. Usually images that weren't included with CD are here. Check out the SHA innersleeve, it's mad.
5) Calenders (not pictured here). There are a few going around, I have one myself. Some of the pictures aren't very attractive anyway.
6) Get artistic. Express yourself
with photography. I've done up some Mick Rock photographs in photography
which are pretty sweet. Get original like my Hot Space pillow (complete
with tie-dye and embroidery):
Ok, it is fairly dodgy, but I was young. OK?
7) Go Shopping! Surprise yourself with a bargain. I found this poster for $1 at a market in Melbourne. Not too shabby huh?
8) Material posters. I'm not sure if that's what you call them, but they're made of fabric; and they're available fairly readily from markets.
9) Get fantastic friends to make you awesome stuff. Like Tina, she made a gorgeous "It's a Hard Life" Freddie Teddy bear for a friend.. it was dressed in the lobster costume and everything!
10) Get lucky. Friends can
also get you awesome stuff like my mirror of Freddie (see bottom LHC of
pic). Jed sent me this for my fourteenth, pretty sweet, huh?
So you have a few ideas.. if you have any suggestions you want me to put up here, don't hesitate to drop me a line @ elle.gray@mailcity.com. Also feel free to send me pics of your decorated Queen rooms so I can pin them up for the world to see!
