Have you ever brought a new Queen CD to find the greatest song ever, but find that no one considers it to be as great as you think it is? I find that alot, with the general "80's omigod Queen's fantastic" vibe going around the internet, you're bound to be sick of 1) Bohemian Rhapsody 2) Hammer to Fall or 3) a Kind of Magic by the time you've done the whole round. So here's the chance for the great ones to shine in the "UNDERESTIMED SONGS" section! Especially of my wonderful taste *choke* here are a few songs that need the respect they deserve. TADA!

My Fairy King | Mercury | The general distruction of folklore from man. Exceptionally thoughtful | 9/10 | Great song. Notice you can never sing along to this one! This deserves to be up there with the best.
The Night Comes Down | May | A reflections of the 60's and how free and openminded people were. | 9/10 (i had to do it) |
This was my first favourite song from Queen I and I still love it to death. The haziness is spectacular and the acoustic solo is great. Awesome
Jesus | Mercury | The retelling of the life of Christ | 7/10 | A generally underated song, you never hear much of this one. Repeated chords, simple melody. Good all over, I guess.
Worthy noticablers: Modern Times Rock n Roll (Taylor)... I'm always numb during this song, I can't even remember how it goes it completly goes through me and Great King Rat... Awesome. |

Father To Son | May | A close relationship that fathers and sons have (most inevitably Bri & his Dad) | 8/10 | A supposed Zepplian style copy (how the hell should I know anyway?) but greatly shown off.
The Fairy Fellers Masterstroke | Mercury | A depiction of a painting | 10/10 | Awesome. Can YOU say it any better?
Funny How Love Is | Mercury | Love is everywhere? Yeh, if your single minded, Freddie *lol* | 5/10 | Eek, this is underated and I don't wonder why. It's repetitive and not all that great.
Worthy noticablers: White Queen (As It Began), (May) is a truly beautiful song. Also, Orge Battle (Mercury) and Loser In the End (Taylor) is massively underated, they are great! |

Brighton Rock | May | Based on the book by Graeme Greene, def a book on my list to read! Also about a holiday that was meant to be :-)) | 10/10 | Some people just wonder why there are even words in this song, since they are so overwhelmed by Bri's playing. I think it's great! Good on ya Bri!
Tenement Funster | Taylor | Roger clinging onto his youth, wanting freedom (well, he was 25). Check out l'interpretation | 7/10 | Actually, I really enjoy this track. I often find that Roger's songs are about the same thing... teenagers being rebellious. I think he let go of his obsession with Drowse, which was appropriate if you read the words. PS Rog played guitar on this!
Flick of the Wrist | Mercury | Directed at a nasty piece of work | 9/10 | This is evil... and i love it! A early and underestimated "Death On Two Legs". Massive highlight of SHA!
Misfire | Deacon | Relating shooting to love. To tell you the truth, I can't see much difference... | 7/10 | Deacy's first song, hum, it's good. I don't know, something isn't there.....
Worthy noticablers: She Makes Me (Stormtroopers in Stilletoes) is hugely underestimated and greatly scary when you hear the breathing at the end of the track for the first time :-OnO! And Dear Friends. Go Dear Friends :-) |

Lazing on A Sunday Afternoon | Mercury | Jolly Freddie-going guy and his intentions for the week | 8/10 | This micro-second song is great, isn't it? Of course, not noticed much because it wasn't played at concerts (wonder why...)
Sweet Lady | May | Eek, comparing girls to cheese. | 6/10 | I never understood this one much. Along the lines of FBG. Eek.
The Prophet Song | May | Retelling the story of Noah's Arc | 10/10 | Most positively my favourite song, very last of the faerytale genre. 8-minute underrated masterpiece. Bliss..
Worthy noticablers: Good Company (May), hum, alright.. and perhaps Seaside Rendezvous (Mercury) for the same reason as Lazing... |

Long Away/Millionaire Waltz/You and I | May/Mercury/Deacon | The same "get you in the sack" songs | 8.5/10 | Great songs. Similar to eachother, don't you think? Great highlights of DATR, considering this IS the bulk of the album..
White Man | May | I think this was about the Soweto riots in South Africa which happened around the same time this song was writen | 10/10 | Massively underrated. Love the rock, love the rawness, love it.
Drowse | Taylor | The concluding song to Taylor's obsession with youth. | 9/10 | The slide guitar is fantastic, a good song to daze away after a nite on the drink.
Worthy noticablers: Teo Torriate (May)... is anyone awake out there to hear this? Great.. |
All Dead All Dead | May | The aftermath of a gfriend's death. | 7/10 | Deserves to be recognized more. Bit of a boppy chorus...
Fight From the Inside | Taylor | Now, Roger gets pissed off at teenagers, don't understand! | 8/10 | Ok, ok ok, this is very similar to the other ones. Fun.
Get Down Make Love | Mercury | Get down, Make Love... got a problem with that? | 9/10 | No synths? Whatever you think.
It's Late | May | A 'play' about a relationship. | 10/10 | At their best. Greatest example of underestimation.
My Melancholy Blues | Mercury | A caberet intoxicated song. Bliss | 9/10 | Who else would love to perform this at a caberet *everyone shoots hands up* :-)
Worthy noticablers: Spread Your Wings (Deacon) is always underestimated for how great it is, well at least i do... and Who Needs You (Deacon)(again) is underdone. :-O |

Mustapha | Mercury | Imatiation of Arabic prayer. Very different. | 7/10 | Mum got me out of this one *huff*, btw, this IS in arabic/jibberish. Don't lose sleep over that...
Jealousy | Mercury | Mushy love song all about me | 8.5/10 | I love the vocals in this, wonderful.
Dead On Time | May | My life story = being late | 9/10 | Viscous.
Leaving Home Ain't Easy | May | The difficulty of leaving home. | 9/10 | Sweet, great to play on the piano...
More of That Jazz | Taylor | Taylor concluding the album with how pissed off he is with it. | 7/10 | I like the highlights of Jazz on this. Rah!
Worthy noticablers: If You Can't Beat Them (Deacon) is my mum's favourite song, it IS pretty uplifting huh? But not great advice.. and In Only Seven Days (Deacon) is sweet. What is this Deacon plot going on? |

Dragon Attack | May | Clubbing in Germany | 9/10 | Awesome bassline. Rock on.
Don't Try Suicide | Mercury | An insight into suicide. | 8/10 | *Don't do that*... I find it a bit similar to Get Down Make Love in a weird way. Eek, isn't THAT strange!
Sail Away Sweet Sister | May | About "Brian's sister he never had" growing up. Gimme a break. | 8/10 | Like to scream at him over this one, but all in all, the music is good.
Coming Soon | Taylor | Take a guess | 8/10 | Typical Roger song. Lets run our heads into a wall or something.
Worthy noticablers: Need Your Loving Tonight (Poor Deacy), great live. |
Now don't plet rocks at me but HS has had a terrible run, and in all seriousness it isn't that bad! Give it a chance, play that funky music white boy!!! |

Dancer! | May | Party? A german wakeup call? Something... | 10/10 | It is so fun! You have to believe me! I love Roger's drumming! RAHHHH!
Back Chat | Deacon | A slingshot at the media. My god John, it's not as if they are stalking YOU or anything. Totally ironic now considering John's been in hiding since 1991. | 6/10 | Much more fun to play it than to listen to it. If you can't take the consquences of being a millionaire then don't be a rockstar!!
Action This Day | Taylor | Queen vs. Depressive World, guess who wins? | 9/10 | AWESOME!!! I love Roger's drumming! Great vocals, everything! *action!*
Life is Real | Mercury | Dedicated to John Lennon, M's idol. | 8/10 | Great, very wishy washy thou. Copies Lennon's style well.
Calling All Girls | Taylor | Peace/South American thing. Humth, I don't know. | 7/10 | Not too bad. Why does everyone think this song is gay?
Worthy noticablers: Staying Power (Mercury) I think is pretty underated. I liked the Milton Keynes version better, although. |
Man On the Prowl | Mercury | A dodgy imatation of Crazy Little Thing Called Love | 5/10 | Eek! No wonder no one wants to talk about this!
Machines | Taylor/May | *washing machine* | 7.5/10 | Strange, pretty well done with the synths although.
Keep Passing the Open Windows | Mercury | Uplifting boppy song about suicide (well not doing it, another approach to Don't Try Suicide).. yeh | 9/10 | Great, smiley song. :-0 JJJ <singing
Is This the World We Created? | May/Mercury | Touching song about peace and hunger | 10/10 | Cryable in concert.
Worthy noticablers: Tear it Up (May) perhaps? What do you think? |
One Year of Love | Deacy | A soppy love song. Peferably compared to 4 and a half minutes of love. Hum | 7.5/10 | Not bad at all. Quite touching actually. But come on? One year? Some lonely sods don't even get 3 seconds. Selfish perhaps
Gimme the Prize/Don't Lose Your Head | May/Taylor | The Kurgan's theme from Highlander | 7.5/10 | Fun, but room for some improvement. Don't Lose Your Head was more effective in the movie.
Princes of the Universe | Mercury | Awesome Highlander essence song | 10/10 | At last! This song is finally being recognized for it's full potential! Hurrah!
Worthy noticablers: Pain is So Close to Pleasure (Mercury + Deacon), Hum, alright. |
Party/Kashoggi's Ship | Queen | A double song account of Queen's parties | 7/10 | Deserves to be recognized more. Bit of a boppy chourus... what was with the fight during Kashoggi's where he tells the guy with the gun to kiss his ass? Too weird

Was It All Worth It | Queen | Reflection of Q's career | 10/10 | Underestimated?.... why?
Worthy noticablers: Scandal and all the extra tracks. |
Innuendo | Queen (suspect=Roger) | Backlash to what was happening in Spain at the time. Civil uprest I'm sure... | 10/10 | I don't care if its a copy of Zepplin. It's a good song.
Don't Try So Hard | Queen (suspect=Deaky) | Sad pick me up song (pick out the contridiction in that sentence) | 8/10 | Don't you love that bit where Freddie powerfully goes "OOOO WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORLD!!" ahh magic
The Hitman | Queen (suspect=Bri) | God get over it. | 6/10 | Ok, just good the first time.
Worthy noticablers: I Can't Live With You, prefer the Queen Rocks version myself. Bijou and Delilah too. |
Made in Heaven | Mercury | Considering the role fate has played out for him | 8/10 | Although it's the title track of the album, I find Made In Heaven very underdone. It's really good though, the vocals are gorgeous.
It's a Beautiful Day | Queen (suspect=Freddie) | AHH! Rising to a beautiful day in Switzerland! | 7/10 | I think of this song and remember of wailing it on the morning of the new millenium as the sun rose.
Mother Love | Mercury (mostly) and May | Check it out here | 10/10 | So moving, it needs to be recognized!
Worthy noticablers: Too Much Love Will Kill You (May & friends), it's got pretty good recognition but I still like it quite a lot. |
