Chapter Three

'AJ, something's wrong with her,' Kevin said into the phone. 'She was crying? Why?' AJ asked. 'AJ! If I knew, you think I would be talking to you?' Kevin asked. 'Good point, well, why don't we get Leighanne to ask her? They're close,' AJ said. 'AJ, they live together,' Kevin said as he heard the bathroom door open. 'Hey AJ-talk to Leighanne okay? I hope you feel better after getting sick last night,' Kevin said a bit louder trying to cover up what he said before. 'She's in the room huh?' AJ asked. 'Oh! Yeah, okay, anyways, I'll talk to you on the tourbus, no, I'm not sick either, and yes, you can borrow my Aaliyah cd,' Kevin said. 'But Kevin, I already got-oh yeah! Okay, see ya,' AJ said as they hung up. Kevin turned around and looked at Christina. Her brown hair was in a clip and she had on black shades. 'Is everything ready?' she asked without emotion. 'Yeah, everyone' s waiting out in the hallway,' Kevin said. Christina nodded. She went over and got her bag and notebook. She turned and walked out of the room without a word. Kevin sighed as he watched her walk out. 'What is up with her?' he thought as he got changed and grabbed his bags. He met everyone in the hall as the walked down into the tourbus. He saw Christina put stuff in her bunk the go back to the counter to talk with Leighanne. He watched as Leighanne gave her a concerned look and took off Christina's shades. Kevin looked closer and saw that her face was tear streaked. 'Christina? What's wrong?' Leighanne asked. 'I don't want to talk about it,' Christina said quietly. She felt really guilty over it, but she didn't know what to do. 'Christina, your my best friend, I want you to tell me if somethings up okay?' Leighanne said. 'Leighanne?' she asked quietly afraid of what would happen if she told. 'Yes?' Leighanne asked. 'I need to show you something,' Christina said as she got up. Kevin backed into the bathroom before she caught him. Christina walked into her bunk and got the notebook. She walked back to Leighanne and handed it to her. Leighanne opened the book and pulled out the envelope. She read the letter than looked at the check. '500,000 dollars?' Leighanne asked. Christina nodded. 'That's if I keep quiet and don't tell Laura,' she said. Leighanne glared down at the letter. 'Oh no way, I'm definatly going to tell Laura! Tell her that her fiance Mr. Do-Gooder is a bas,' Leighanne said as Christina cut her off. 'No Leighanne! You can't tell her, when he was there, he told me that if I told, he'd go after Kevin,' Christina said. Leighanne shook her head. 'I don't care about Kevin right now, I love Kevin to death, but James has no right to put you in danger like this! He hurt you, you shouldn't have to deal with this!' Leighanne said. Christina shrugged. 'Well, at least he didn't get me pregnant,' Christina said. Leighanne nodded. 'Yeah,' she said softly. Christina got up. 'I'll be in my bunk,' she said walking away. 'Bye Chris,' Leighanne said watching her go. Sighing, she looked at the guys hanging in the kitchen. She got up and put the notebook in her bunk as she walked towards them. 'Brian? I really need to talk to you,' Leighanne said as she pulled him towards her bunk. Five minutes later Brian looked at Leighanne amazed. 'Threatened?' he asked. Leighanne nodded sadly. 'Yeah, and he's coming after Kevin if Christina tells anyone,' Leighanne said. 'But she told you,' Brian said. Leighanne nodded. 'But he doesn't know that, and if he doesn't, shes not in any danger,' Leighanne said. Brian sighed. 'How are we going to tell Kevin?' Brian asked. Leighanne shrugged. 'I don't know, should we?' Leighanne asked. Brian looked down. 'He's my cousin,' he said. Leighanne nodded. 'But Christina's my best friend,' Leighanne said. 'But in girl talk isn't that considered tattling?' Brian asked. 'Brian, don't goof, should we or should we not? I know James, and if he thinks Kevin knows, or he gets mad, he's coming after Kevin, no matter what,' Leighanne said. Brian sighed and silently cursed. 'So we should tell him?' he asked. Leighanne nodded. 'Yeah, and have Denise beef up security,' Leighanne said. Brian sighed and nodded. 'Would you tell him?' Leighanne asked. Brian nodded. 'Yeah, okay, I will, but not right now, he needs to pull off the concert,' Brian said. Leighanne nodded. 'Okay, and I'll talk with Chris during the concert,' Leighanne said. Brian nodded. 'You'd tell me if something like this happened right?' Brian asked. Leighanne smiled. 'Of course!' Leighanne said. Brian smiled. 'Good,' he said pulling her to him and kissing her softly.
