On September 29th, a Ramones touring video titled "RAMONES AROUND THE
WORLD" will be released on Rhino. This video contains footage from Marky
Ramones's video camera which he brought with him on the Ramones tours. This
is just like Marky's footage on WE'RE OUTTA HERE, execpt this entire video
will be all footage of touring, no interviews n stuff in between. This will
have a LOT more footage of Ramones on tour than WE'RE OUTTA HERE did.
Marky Ramone is reportedly in going to be starting up an official Ramones web page. I'm told that one of the big ideas of this page is to have a LOT of fan contributions (i.e., reviews of Ramones albums, shows, stories of how fans got into the Ramones, etc.).
If anyone wants to contribute anything to the page (it's not up yet, so there's no URL to give at this point), send your contributions to Onick, a friend of Marky's who is one of the people assisting with the development of the web page.
Speaking as a Ramones fan who has put together a web page devoted to them, I am very excited by the prospect of an official web page that's run by the band, with fan contributions. This should be much, MUCH better than some record company-run web page (those are usually boring anyway).
Thanks to LifeSucks for contributing this information.
The address for the site is planned to be http://www.ramones.net/

The following was reported January 23, 1998 on Music News Of The World, part of the Addicted To Noise online magazine:
Speaking from his New York hospital room, Ramone said the unnamed "blood-related" illness that landed him in the intensive care unit last Monday in critical condition began with flu-like symptoms. "I have this condition and I wasn't feeling well, then I got the flu and my throat blew up to twice its size, my mouth was swollen and I was running a 104-[degree] fever," said the 46-year-old punk icon, who chose not to discuss the exact nature of his condition.
The illness caused Ramone to sleep for two days before a friend called to check up on him, he explained. "He said I sounded like crap and he came over to check up on me right away," added Ramone. "He immediately called an ambulance when he got here."
The singer said when he was admitted to the hospital he was "totally delirious" and spent two days in intensive care. "They really saved my life I guess. It was as close as I've come [to death]," a grateful Ramone said. "I guess I was in really bad shape."
Saying he's now able to sit up and walk around, Ramone said his condition has improved in the past few days. He thanked all the friends and fans who've called and sent notes during his hospitalization, saying the phone has been ringing "off the hook."
In between visits from Spector, rock-photographer pal Bob Gruen and members of D-Generation and dozens of other well-wishers, Ramone said he's enjoyed opening get-well packages from friends, who've sent him everything from flowers, candy and CDs to a copy of the controversial homemade sex-tape of Motley Crue rocker Tommy Lee and his actress wife Pamela Anderson Lee from members of Furious George to a walkman with tapes of the classic Yardbirds and Rolling Stones albums from another friend.
"It was a drag, because last Saturday I was supposed to go see the Stones," said Ramone about one of the group's Madison Square Garden gigs. "I had bought the best tickets I could for a Christmas gift for some friends and then I couldn't go because of this. I gave the tickets to my mom, though, and she said she had a great time."
In the meantime, Ramone said he's trying to keep his routine going. "I still listen to Howard [Stern] in the morning and I watched Oasis on [Jay] Leno last night. They were pretty good." [Fri., Jan. 23, 1998, 9 a.m. PST]
The following was reported January 19, 1998 on Music News Of The World, part of the Addicted To Noise online magazine:
Punk rock pioneer Joey Ramone has been admitted to a New York hospital for medical testing concerning an undiagnosed illness, according to a report in Monday's Toronto Sun. The 46 year-old singer has reportedly been ordered not to perform for the next two months.
Ramone's condition came to light when his management company faxed Toronto's Phoenix Club a letter announcing the cancellation of a DJing gig with the venue slated for Jan. 26, the Sun reported. "Joey's condition is very serious. He's undergoing tests right now and we don't know when he'll be out of the hospital," his management said.
Neither Ramone nor his label, Radioactive Records, were available for immediate comment on Monday. . -- Chris Nelson [Mon., Jan. 19, 1998, 9 a.m. PST]

In October 1997, when Dee Dee went to England to promote his book "Poison Heart", he played a couple solo acoustic shows. Here are two photos from one of the performances (Thanks to Veronica Kofman for contributing these photos)
As previously reported, to celebrate the release of their new box set "We're Outta Here", 6 of the Ramones (Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, Tommy, Marky, and CJ) made an in-store appearance on November 25 at Tower Records in New York City.
MTV Online has a story on it, complete with pictures.
Though I was not there, I was told that it was a great event.
