Rock and Roll began in the 1950's in America.It's roots were formed from African-American Blues, and Gospel music, as well as being influenced by Country and Big Band music. Untill now the music most black people listened to as different music than what white people listened to. The early Rock and Roll combined both"black" and "white" music.
Rock and Roll music has pulsating drums, repetive chord progressions, stepped up tempos, and loud guitars. For American teens Rock and Roll was a great excuse to dance crazy new dances and wear wild and crazy new hair styles,this still holds true today with a new era of Rock and Roll music. In the 1950's many thought it to be "Devil Music" and only a fad, well for a fad it's become the worlds most popular and most recoognizable form of music today.
Today there are many forms of Rock-n-Roll music. Styles such as Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Pop Rock, Heavey Metal, Punk, Hardcore, Death, etc........changeing the original format of the music has given us great "Bands" and "Artists" with a wide range of Sounds,Texture and styles, todays Hi-Tech equipment gives the muscian many options to explore, who knows what the new millenium will hold for Rock-n-Roll.
