Sacre Bleu is a 5-piece blues and zydeco band that has played together for more than 15 years. In that time, we have played up and down I-64/I-75 from Richmond to Lexington to Louisville. Although we have primarily playe in bars and clubs that feature blues or zydeco bands such as Stevie Ray's in Louisville, The Brick Alley in Frankfort and Banana's Tavern in Lexington, we have also played venues as diverse as the Capital Expo, the Farnum Dudgeon Civic Center, the Kentucky History Center, the Kentucky Riverfest, Blues to the Point, The Two Rivers Blues Festival, Lover's Leap Winery, The University of Kentucky's football homecoming tent, private parties and wedding receptions. The Blues We played only blues for the first few years, because the blues is where our heart is. We are 2-time finalists in the Kentuckiana Blues Society's unsigned band competition. The instrumentation we use for blues is 2 guitars, bass, drums, and harmonica, with up to 4 vocals on some songs. Our blues material includes our own blues originals, such as Black Hearted Woman Blues, The Twelve Bar Blues, These Chains, and Big Dog Blues, in addition to classic blues tunes by Muddy Waters, Taj Mahal, Sonny Boy Williamson, Slim Harpo, BB King, Willie Dixon, Junior Wells, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy, Elmore James, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King, and other blues greats |

Zydeco A few years ago, we added zydeco to our repertoire. Why? Because it's fun to play and it's fun to dance to. And it fits right in with some of our more swampy, Louisiana-style blues. For zydeco, we use Cajun accordion, guitar, bass, drums, and washboard, also with up to 4 vocals. Our zydeco material includes up-beat favorites by such artists as Beau Jocque, Buckwheat Zydeco, Clifton Chenier, and C J Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, as well as Sacre Bleu originals like Mudflap Henri and Let It Go and original zydeco arrangements of other songs. Our zydeco music has been featured, live, on the Morning Show on WRVG, and one of our recorded tunes is often used by both WRVG and Stevie Ray's.
