Elvis Soundtracks in the 60's are generally considered to be his weakest material, because as the decade progressed the songs became, more Hollywood and less Elvis. They were mostly novelty songs which were written to fit the plot of his films which were deteriorating in quality. However this does not mean that all of the songs from this period were lousy. Some of the early 60's material like GI Blues or Blue Hawaii was very popular with fans and there are many great tracks scattered here and there. You just had to look a little harder.
