(BOP, June 1997)

When BOP's Carrie hung out on tour with Nick Carter, 17; A.J. McLean, 19; Brian Littrell, 22; Howie Dorough, 23; and Kevin Richardson, 24--the boys behind 'We've Got It Goin' On' and 'Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)' from the Backstreet Boys' due in August CD--she asked the Orlando, Florida-based Boys which successful singers they've met since hitting stardom. (Their album's already out in Europe and Canada and they are huge!)

Howie told her that aside from Boyz II Men, whom they totally admire, they've also met Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston, and the Bee Gees. Brian jumped into the conversation, adding the Temptations to the list. "Yeah, we sang for the Temptations backstage when they were doing a show in Orlando," B-Rok said. Kevin, hoping to add to the list, questioned himself, "Who else...?" Nick chimed in, "Color Me Badd." Finally, Kevin remembered who he wanted to add, "Village People." Realizing this mondo-list, Nick finished by saying, "We've met a lot of people."

No doubt one day some new band will be saying, "WOW, we met the BACKSTREET BOYS!"
