"Shhhhh, get up Sarah, we gotta go, or we're gonna miss the flight....C'mon, I'm awake, get up."
"Alright...." Sarah sighed, yawning, pulling her clothes on. "I-I'm glad you're here." She stuttered as she got dressed and pulled her things together.
"I know, I know." He murmured as he pulled Sarah towards him, smoothing her hair, and running his thumbs over her cheeks. "I wanna get out of here before the fans come. Let's go." And taking her hand he walked out the door to the penthouse.
"Excuse me, sir?" a bellboy asked, coming towards them, "Can I help you?"
"Just take all the bags by the door, and get them into the limousine ok?" Kevin ordered, walking briskly towards the elevator, one arm thrown protectively around Sarah.
Once they were in the lobby, Kevin stopped dead in his tracks. "Damn..." He muttered under his breath. "Sarah, there's a lot of press outside...just keep walking, and don't let go of me ok?" Once he saw Sarah's nod, he drew in his breath, and pushed the doors to the hotel open. With the help of his security, Kevin elbowed a path for Sarah through the money-hungry press, and tried to shield her face from the numerous flashbulbs exploding everywhere. He helped her into the limo, and they sped away to the airport. They were halfway there before Sarah realized that she was still clinging to Kevin's arm, her fingers wrapped around his wrist.
"Sorry." She murmured, unlocking her fingers, and clenching them together.
"You're still scared aren't you?" Kevin asked, taking one of her hands, and rubbing her knuckles.
"Of course I'm still scared, but once we get to New York.....it'll be better, I just want to get out of this state. I know I'll-" Sarah was interrupted as Kevin opened the door and helped her out of the car, she was so engrossed in herself she hadn't even realized they were at the airport.
"This way...." Kevin whispered and smiled at her as he took her hand and led her towards the gate where their private jet waited.
Once they were aboard and had taken off, Sarah finally let herself relax, sinking back into the leather chair and sighing. Kevin eased into the chair across from her, and brought his head down to meet her eyes. His face was solid, his jaw tight and clenched, his lips pressed together. "If this is wrong...." he croaked, trying not to let his emotions get in the way, "If this is to much, or I'm pressuring you Sarah, when we get to New York I'll book you another flight to anywhere you want to go....alright? I don't like to see you hurting and scared, and this is causing me so much pain right now, to see you upset and frightened like this." He reached over and lifted her chin, running the back of his palm over her cheek. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
"I don't want to leave you!" Sarah cried, her head snapping up. "I can live with this Kevin, but I don't think I can live without you! Do you want me to go somewhere else? Do you want me to leave?" Sarah took his hand from her face and inter-locked his fingers with hers. She moved forward and into his lap, sliding her hands onto the back of his neck.
"That's the last thing I want, I only said it 'cause I thought you wanted it."
"Never, Kevin.....never." Sarah whispered into his ear, and then rested her head on his shoulder. Kevin wrapped his arms around her, and pulled her into his embrace. Sarah sighed, and released herself into him, letting sticky, saltwater tears hall onto his neck. Kevin grabbed a tissue, and wiped them off her face, and his neck. Then he looked at Sarah, and Sarah looked at him, and they both started to giggle. "Kevin Richardson……." Sarah smiled, shaking her head, "Do you have any idea how much I love you?"
Kevin cocked his head at her, and made a face. "Bunches?"
"Much more then that! Bunches and bunches!!"
"Forever, forever." Kevin laughed
"And ever and ever!!" Sarah smiled. Then, leaning back, Sarah looked straight at Kevin. "Promise me that you'll always be here, that you'll never leave me. Please Kevin, just promise me."
"Sarah!! I will always be here for you, you know that....but what is going on? Why are you asking me this?"
"Kevin, this is the biggest relationship I've ever had, and I'm only 19! I'm scared that I'm going to get hurt, because I've never experienced anything like this before. When I get around you......." Sarah bit her lip, and looked out the airplane window, down at the cloud cover. "I get weak."
"You think it's any different for me?" Kevin asked. "Sarah, my first relationship lasted for 2 years. I have had maybe 3 or 4 serious relationships my whole life, and I'm 27! The first time I saw you....I fell in love with you, but I couldn't admit that because it felt wrong, but I've learned that you have to go with your heart." Sarah opened her mouth to say something, but Kevin placed his thumb there, and looked into her eyes. "I followed my heart, and it led me to you." Then Kevin removed his thumb, and put his lips there instead.
He kissed her slowly at first, then more intensely, wrapping his hands around her waist, and lifting her up and moved across the plane with her still in his arms. He lay her down on the couch against the wall, and moved on top of her. His lips moved down her chin, and onto her neck. After a while, Sarah sat up and looked at him, her lip gloss half on her lips, half on his.
"My, but you musician types know how to get to me." She smiled playfully at him. Then Sarah moved under him again, and kissed the skin just above his undershirt. "Make me weak in the knees why don't you?" She giggled.
"Hey, " Kevin whispered, turning her over, and pulling her next to him, belly to back. "I try."
They stayed like that the rest of the flight, talking quietly, until the 2 of them dozed off.
"Excuse me....miss?"
Sarah opened her eyes and tried to remember where she was.
"Miss? We're in New York, the flight is over." Then Sarah remembered that she was on her plane going home. 'Home' Sarah thought 'I am going home with Kevin.' It still felt foreign.
"Thank you." Sarah yawned, then reached behind her and shook Kevin. "Get up lazy bones, we're in New York." Kevin pulled himself up and stretched, then took Sarah's hand, and gave her a look that clearly said 'Let's go.'
"Wait Kevin." Sarah said, grabbing a tissue. "Wipe my lipstick off your face."
"Oops." Kevin smiled. When he had removed the traces of Sarah's kisses, he gave her a serious look "Prepare for anything in that airport ok?"
"What could be out there that I can't handle?"
Kevin gave her a look "A lot!"
Sarah was not prepared for what was waiting for her right through the doors of the terminal. She stepped into the airport, and immediately every eye was on her. "Ok, let's go get luggage.....keep walking Sarah, and smile alright?" Kevin muttered through clenched teeth next to her ear. Sarah pasted on a smile, and once again wrapped her fingers around Kevin's arm. They picked up their luggage, but by then, the little girls had caught on. They ran over to them screaming.
"Kevin!!! Are you Kevin of the backstreet boys? Kevin? Yes, yes, it's Kevin!! Ohmigod, I love your music!! Is Nick here? Brian? A.J.? Howie?" Then their attention turned to Sarah, and their eyes would narrow. "Who" they would ask, "Are you??" Their voices twinged with half fear, half suspicion.
"Sarah." She smiled at them, and accepted the bags Kevin handed her.
"OK...." The 2 young girls looked at each other. "Are you his girlfriend?"
Sarah looked up at Kev, who smiled down at the two young ones. "Yes, she is." He replied, accepting their paper and pens to sign some autographs. Then, he grabbed Sarah's hand and pulled her outside and ushered her into a waiting car.
Kevin threw the luggage in the trunk, and then climbed in also and leaned forward, instructing the driver where to go. Sarah's eyes ran over his back, eyeing the muscles you could see through his shirt. She ran her fingers up and down his back, tickling him gently. Kevin turned and eyed her, giving her a look that clearly said 'Not now.' Motioning with his head towards the driver. Grinning devilishy, she pressed a button, and the glass partition between driver and passenger came up. He rolled his eyes at her, and kicked up his legs, and put his head in her lap. She massaged his neck gently, drawing her fingers down his temples, and running them around his collarbone. She leaned down and kissed his forehead.
"When you see the apartment.....I had it all done, everything's there already.....I want you to like it." Kevin whispered, bringing her head down next to his, and kissing her ear.
"As long as you're there....I'll always be happy." Sarah sighed, and wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning back against the wall of the car.
