Maddie was sitting with Suzie, Ashleigh and Karena when the four guys interuppted them. "We see that you girls are sitting alone, and we don't think that's right, would you like the company of 4 men." AJ Asked.
"Sure we can scoot over" Maddie moved over to make room for the guys. Her heart skipped when Howie slid in beside her.
"Kevin, Howie, Brian and AJ these are my best friends Ashleigh, Suzie and Karena. Girls these are the guys." They all exchanged hellos and smiled.
Ash and AJ were talking when a good song came on "AJ come and dance with me." Ashleigh said.
"Sure I am right behind you." AJ winked and walked to the dance floor with her.
The others made small talk and Maddie looked at her watch..."Oh I have to get back to work in 5 minutes..." Howie was disapointed. He really had wanted to talk with Maddie. She left her friends talking with the guys, Throughout the evening she would pop in on the group to see how they were doing and each time Howie would smile and ask her if she was alright... "What a sweetie..." Maddie thought to herself as she served the tables.

10 minutes before closing.
Her friends asked her if she wanted to go for coffee with the guys after, but Maddie was tired and wanted to go home to bed. She took a pass and told the girls t have fun..and made them promise to call her when they got home. "I want to hear all about it."
Howie found Maddie counting up her tabs and said "Are you sure you wouldn't like to join us for coffee?"
"As much as I would love to, I am afraid I would not be very good company, I would probably fall asleep at the table."
"Well go home and get some sleep...How would you like to come to our concert tomorrow?"
"Wow I would love to."
"I will leave tickets at the door for you.." Howie smiled at Maddie and walked away.

Maddie was exhausted when she finally left the bar..she had miscalculated someone's bill and she had to go through all her bills to verify them. She had been the last one with the exception of the bouncer to leave the bar.
As Maddie walked out of the bar she realized she had forgotten her sweater in the bar, "shit I am going to freeze walking home." She folded her arms and walked at a brisk pace, a car pulled up beside her.
"Maddie...Maddie"
She turned around and saw Howie popping his head out of the limo's sunroof. She smiled and walked towards him.
"Hi Howie, why aren't you with everyone at the cafe.?"
"Well because Ashleigh said your car wasn't working, and I didn't like the idea of you walking alone at this time of night."
Maddie smiled "Well that is sweet of you but I am just around the block...It will take me 5 minutes to go home, you should be with your friends."
"I can see them anytime...I would rather get to know a new friend." Howie smiled and got out of the car.
He opened the door "Madam, let the monsiuer take you home in style." He winked and held out his hand. Maddie laughed and placed her hand in his and climbed into the limo. Howie followed behind her and closed the door. He asked Maddie where she lived, she gave the address to the driver and settled back into the rich leather seats.
"So Maddie, Suzie tells me that you are a university student...what are you studying?"
"Well I am a political science and law student."
"Wow those are two very intense faculties..what do hope to pursue after graduation?"
"I really want to work for a lobby group, I care about family issues and children's rights. I want to lobby the government to change their laws to protect families and their children."
Howie listened intently as she spoke. She spoke with such determination and passion that he was drawn into her cause. She blushed and said.."My goodness I tend to go off on tangents when I talk about legislation...I am sorry."
Howie smiled "You should never apoligize for stating your opinion and beliefs..."
Maddie smiled..."Well Howie we are here." Howie was disapointed, he wanted to learn more about Maddie, he opened the door for her.
Maddie smiled and shook his hand..." Well thank you for the ride Howie..I guess I will see you tomorrow." She walked up the stairs to her building's entrance. She unlocked the door and turned to Howie.."Have a good night and thank you again for the ride.." Howie smiled and watched her go into the building. He saw the light turn on in her apartment and he drove away.

At the coffee shop
Suzie and Kevin were talking about their favourite movie, Karena and Brian were talking about basketball and AJ and Ashleigh were telling jokes and flirting. They all looked up when Howie walked in sans Maddie.
"Where is Maddie..." Suzie asked.
"Well I drove her home and she went upstairs."
AJ laughed and teased "She wouldn't fall for the old Sweet D charm eh.."
"AJ that isn't funny..." Howie sat down and ordered a coffee.

Maddie curled up under her duvet and smiled as she thought of Howie. "He is so sweet...and so good looking...wow."
She turned off her light and fell asleep.
