The next morning Maddie awakened to a ringing phone.."Ughh someone had better be dying or else I am going to kill whoever is calling this early. "HELLO!!"
"Oh hi Maddie..Did I wake you...Its Howie."
"Oh good morning Howie..no I was up" she lied..."What's up?"
"Well I have a bit of free time before rehearsals for tonight's show and I though maybe you would like to meet me for breakfast."
"Umm...sure...what time?"
"Well I have to be back for 11 so how about half an hour?"
"Okay why don't we go eat at Charlie's, it is right next door to your hotel."
"Great...I will see you in half and hour.." Howie smiled and hung up the phone...He had asked Ashleigh for Maddie's number last night and he had been nervous to call. He picked up his shampoo and headed to get ready.

Maddie checked her watch..."Dammit I hope he doesn't stand me up...that would so not make my day."
She saw Howie walking towards her..." I am sorry I am late, our stylist wanted to talk to me about the outfit I am wearing tonight."
"That's alright...I haven't been waiting long.." she smiled and walked into the resteraunt.
Maddie looked across at Howie.."He is dressed so nice..he looks so nice."she thought to herself as she admired his white shirt and jeans...he was casually dressed but he looked very neat and put together.."God he must think I am a slob." she thought as she remembered what she was wearing. She had on loose fitting jeans on, a black tank top and nike flip flops, her hair was in two low braids.
Howie was looking over Maddie and he thought she looked very natural..He liked that she wasn't wearing any makeup and that she dressed as if she were going for breakfast with friends after a long night. It showed Howie that she wasn't pretentious and that she was down-to-earth. They placed their orders. Maddie ordered a black coffee and a toasted bagel, "I never eat breakfast.." she laughed, Howie ordered a vegetarian omellette and whole wheat toast.
"So Maddie what is your name short for?" Howie asked.
"Madigan..."
"Well that is a very unusual and unique name...how did your parents find that name?"
"Well my dad is from Ireland and his best friend's name was Finn which was short for Finnegan, he died the year before I was born, and my mom was from Madison, so they put the 2 together and they came up with Maddigan."
"Well it is a beautiful name" Howie smiled. Maddie and Howie talked about their families and friends. “I have a sister named Regan who is 20 and I have a brother named Ewan who is 17 and another brother named Deklan who is 12.”
"Wow you all have such exotic and fancy names." Howie replied.
"Well my parents are very unique..." Maddie laughed. Howie told Maddie about his siblings and parents and his neices and nephews.
"So how do you and the girls from last night know each other?” Howie asked?"
"Suzie and I have been friends since we were 3 years old and went to preschool together..when I moved here to go to school so did she. Ashleigh and I are in the same faculty at school and Karena and I met in girl scouts when we were 7. We are inseperable and have been through some tough times together...They keep me going when I doubt myself."
"They sound like wonderful friends...AJ is my best friend, I have known him for 10 years and he is my support..He is sometimes the only one who knows or understands what I am going through. The rest of the guys are good friends too but AJ is my best friend." They continued talking throughout their breakfast..Howie glanced at his watch..
"Oh my...Maddie it is almost 11 am...As much as I would love to sit and talk with you all day, I have a show tonight." Howie smiled and apoligized.
"That's alright Howie..I should go to the library to get some books for my paper which is due next week." Howie paid their bill and walked out side.
"Well I had a wonderful morning Howie..thank you so much for inviting me." Maddie smiled.
"Thank you for making me laugh and getting my mind off the show tonight. I will see you tonight right?' Howie asked
"Of course...I can't wait to see all the girls in this town turn into jello when you guys come on stage.." Maddie winked at Howie.."I honestly cannot see how their brain cells could reduce to mush in 10 seconds flat.."
"Hey...." Howie laughed.
"I am just kidding... I will see you at 7 pm.." Maddie smiled and
walked
away.
