They all went back to their rooms to shower and then met in the lobby. They signed autographs for the fans waiting outside of their hotel and then jumped into the rental van that would take them to the club.
~***~
Maddie was serving a table of guys that were celebrating a bachlor party when Howie and the guys walked in..She didn't see them enter the bar.
Howie and the guys saw a group get up and leave and they grabbed the booth. Howie looked around and spotted Maddie. "So that's why she didn't show up..you would think she would have called though." Howie said to AJ.
"Howie don't even try to understand women, they will get you every time..why don't you go and talk to her.."
"I will after, I don't want to disturbe her she looks swamped." As Howie said that he saw Maddie sit on one of the guys laps and kiss him on the cheek.
"What the fuck...She didn't say she had a boyfriend..." Howie tried to hide his disapointment but couldn't.
"D she is only flirting...she is doing it to make tips..that's her job.." Brian said trying to cheer Howie up
"No it's gotta be her boyfriend...She isn't the type to flirt like that..hell she didn't do that to me.." Howie muttered.
Maddie walked over to the table where Howie and the guys were sitting.."Hi guys...how was the show?"
"It was excellent" Kevin replied. "But I thought you were supposed to be coming.."
"I was...2 girls ditched work and they were desperate so I had to come in...My rent is late because I had to buy a text book so I needed the extra cash..."
She turned to Howie "Didn't you get my messages...I left 2 of them at the front desk."
"I didn't get them, but truthfully I didn't stop at the front desk." Howie was relieved that it had all been a misunderstanding..He knew she wouldn't have stood him up with an explanation.
"Howie I really wanted to see the show, but it was either go to the show and don't eat for a month or work and have a place to live." Maddie smiled at Howie.
Howie couldn't believe how hard Maddie had to work. She went to school full time, and worked every night until 3 am and then got up to go to classes at 9 am. Howie had forgotten what it was like to have to struggle to make ends meet. He felt bad for Maddie and wished he could too something for her.
"Well guys I would love to sit and chat but it is nuts and if I want to make some tips I have to go and sweet talk that table full of drunk bachelor party people over there." Maddie winked and walked away.
"See D I told you, it is part of her job." AJ said
Howie laughed at his friend and went to dance.
