Chapter 14

Abbie stood inside the silver compound that enclosed the stage. She was waching the boys's opening act The Jungle Brothers and she was trying to look impressed by them, when in reality they were really annoying her. "Not the best choice for an opening group" Abbie thought to herself. The band left the stage and the crowd started to buzz with anticipation for the boys to take the stage. Abbie took that moment while the roadies prepped the stage to take notes.

The crowd is electric. The only thing that seperates the 55,000 screaming fans from their idols is 10 minutes of waiting time and this steel compound that surrounds the stage. All around me the mostly female crowd is buzzing and couting down the minutes until the 5 men who cover their walls and consume their thoughts take the stage and give these excited and feverish fans a night they will talk about for months and years to come.

The lights dimmed and Abbie was forced to close her notebook and become immersed in what was about to take place.

Abbie was dancing and singing along as the boys performed and frolicked on stage. She realised 20 seconds into thier first song that the boys came totally alive and let their personalities run free while they were performing. AJ was the same wild man that he was off stage, Nick the usually shy one was now this dancing and flirting machine, teasing the females in the audience and making their tempertures rise as he winked and flashed his childish smile. Kevin the usally serious one was having fun, Brian was the comedian and show man and Howie was his normal and sweet self, pointing and winking at audience members.

During Quit Playing Games the boys were hooked onto wires and flew above the crowd, eliciting screams and waving hands from the crowd. Howie showered his part of the crowd with rose petals and roses and as the song drew to an end he still held one rose in his hand. Shaking his head as the crowd sqealed and begged him for his cherished last rose Howie patiently waited to be unhooked and then crouched down and held out the rose to Abbie. She smiled and gingerly took the rose from his outstretched hand, and was rewarded with a wink and a tender smile from Howie. As she brought the rose to her cheek she watched Howie glance over his shoulder at her before he moved to other side of the stage. "Well Miss Foster" Howie thought to himself as he watched the velvety rose petals brush against her cheek "You are in for a very special night"
