Abbie was sitting cross legged on her floor, leaning against the couch glued to the latest episode of ER. "Jesus Carter don't be such a prick...go after her" she muttered to the television screen as she dug her spoon into the carton of Ben and Jerry's Triple Fudge Brownie Explosion. It was Friday night and she had just completed her first week living in Orlando and working for the boys. Her first column had caused a frenzy on the CNN web page and there was now talk that she would get her own web site.
The girls from the office had tried to lure her out to the club but she had begged off. She wanted to spend some quiet time catching up on her emails from fans and she was dying to watch ER that she had taped the previous night. The girls, in particular Pamela were hilarious and she was so glad that she had friends around her own age to hang out with. They had gone roller blading the previous evening and then went to see a movie.
Abbie reached for the remote to fast forward the commercials when her phone rang. She glanced at the clock and realised that it was past midnight, which meant that it was probably Kevin calling to give her the update for that day. "Hi Kevin..prompt as usual" she teased.
"Abbie...it's not Kevin, it's Howie"
"Hey D...How was the show?"
"It was great, the crowd was wild. I was not expecting you to be home, I mean I was just going to leave you a message. It is Friday night and you are a young, single and very attractive woman, what the hell are you doing at home" Howie scolded.
"Howie I have been out every night this week, the girls at the office have been running me off my feet with the Orlando night life" Abbie laughed. "Speaking of Friday night and partying how come you and AJ are not off hitting on some unfortunate woman"
"Unfortunate...hmm last time I checked they were not complaining" Howie teased "The guys are all gone out but I had a headache and decided to come back to the hotel and take a long bath and get some sleep."
"So why are you talking to me then?"
"I told Kev that I would make the daily check in. So Kevin told me that your column is really taking off"
"Holy hell Howie they are going to be designing my own web site. I am so excited. Oops there goes my other line..hold on k?"
Howie picked up the phone and walked over to the bed, where he sat against the headboard. He flipped through the channels but nothing appealed to him so he turned it off.
"Hi Howie..sorry that was Sammi, she was calling from the club to tell me that there was a southern comfort shot with my name on it" Abbie said with a grin.
"I can let you go if you want to get ready"
"No I am staying in. I have emails to catch up on, my fans probably think that I am some stuck up snob now that I am working for you all"
"No one could ever mistake you for a snob Abbie, you are too pure and sweet for that" Howie blushed when he realised that he was heaping compliments on her.
"You are the sweet one...So according to your itinerary you have a day off tomorrow..what are you going to do?"
"Sleep...definalty sleep and then probably shop..what are your plans"
Abbie smiled "I am actually going to Disney World with Pamela and Carla tomorrow. I am so excited and cannot wait to go"
Howie smiled as he heard the child like excitement in her voice "Have lots of fun but promise me that you will save the Small World ride to go with me when I get back"
"Promise" Abbie yawned.
"Woo, don't suck all the air out of the room!" Howie laughed "Well Abigail Foster you have a full day ahead of you so I will let you get your beauty sleep. Have fun but remember your promise"
" I will Howie...I promise..Give the guys hugs for me and I will try to call you all tomorrow night, depending on whether or not the girls manage to convince me to go out clubbing"
"Sleep tight Abbie" Howie hung up the phone and reached for his laptop.

Abbie was in the middle of reading an email from a 17 year old girl who gushed that Abbie was the reason that the girl was going to journalism school, when her mailbox icon flashed and the familiar saying YOU VE GOT MAIL popped up. Abbie clicked the mailbox and started to read the email.
Dear Abbie ( I like that),
I just wanted to tell you to have a good night's sleep and to confess that the real reason I sacked out of going out with the guys was because I wanted to talk to you. You always know the right words to say to me when I am lonesome or down. Have fun tomorrow but remember that the Small World ride is off limits..Bet you would look real cute in mouse ears. Don't pose for pictures with Goofy, I hear he is a horny fella.
Sleep Tight,
Howie
