Backstreet Boy McLean Cherishes New Role in Life
AJ McLean, the bad boy of the multi platinum pop band The Backstreet Boys has a new role, no it's not a role in a television show or movie.
He is now playing to role of proud poppa. His wife Keavy O'Carroll-McLean gave birth to their first child Saffron late Tuesday morning, 3:35 am to be exact.
Their bundle of joy arrived in the world 2 weeks ahead of schedule and weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces.
"She completely changed my life. The moment I saw her chubby face look up at me my whole life changed. It was as if she grabbed onto my heart and now has her tiny hands wrapped around it." McLean confesses as he holds his 3 day old daughter in his arms.
"Keavy is an incredible mother, they have been home for 3 days and she is either changing the diaper, feeding her or hugging her before the baby even has to tell us. She knows exactly what to do. She amazes me.”
When we sat down and asked Keavy about the new poppa she had this to say:
"Alex is constantly hugging her, kissing her, singing to her and telling her how much he loves her. We had agreed that she would sleep in her own room before she was born but one look at her and Alex decided that he wants her in our room. Her bassinet is on his side of the bed. He can't bare to be away from her."
To all the women whose husbands seemed to sleep right through those late night feedings, you are going to be jealous....
"Alex is up with her before I have even heard her cry. He sits up with me as I nurse her and he changes her diapers. He is the greatest" Keavy McLean cements that statement by planting a kiss on her grinning husband.
When we asked them how married life and a new baby was affecting them they laughed "We love every moment we spend being a family. It has only been 3 days since this little angel graced us but we know that we have been given a gift and we are cherishing every moment."
Beautiful and mature sentiments from a couple who are both 23.
What's in the future for the music world's super couple?
"I want 5 more" AJ says with a grin, ducking as his wife punches his arm playfully.
"Did I mention that my husband will be carrying the next baby, then we'll see how many more he wants"
"Truthfully the fellas and I are going back into the studio to record our new album and I am going to be playing daddy and husband with ever second of free time I have. That's my future plans" His wife is planning on taking 6 months off and then resuming her job
at Orlando General where she has just got her doctor's liscence and works in pediatrics.
For now the couple is relishing their new roles as parents.

That article is one of many. Keavy and I were very open about our realtionship and in doing that became the media darlings. We wanted our fans to be included in our love affair. We were strict however when it came to pictures. Our children were not allowed to be photographed and for the most part the media was respecting of that. Take as many pictures of us as you want but leave Saffie and Keegan alone.
I closed the scrapbook and went to make dinner.
