"It's about time you two came to breakfast." Kevin joked as AJ and I joined the others for some waffles and sausage in the hotel resteraunt.
"Sleep well?" Brian asked me when I sat next to him.
"Yeah." I smiled as I placed my napkin in my lap.
"How 'well' did you sleep?" Danielle said sarcastically from across the table.
"I think I'll just have some juice." AJ quickly announced to change the subject. He folded his menu and placed it on the table.
"That well, huh?" Nick laughed.
"That's not funny, Nick." Brian shot back.
"Carlon, can we talk?" Brian asked me after we ate. I nodded and he led me outside the resteraunt.
"What is it, B?" I asked.
"I know that we haven't known each other that long, but I feel like I've known you all my life. I mean, we are first cousins and I feel like I should watch out for you." Brian said.
"I know, Brian, but what are you getting at?"
"What am I getting at?" He mumbled somewhat asking himself the question. I waited for him to continue. "I just think that you and AJ are getting a little too close.
"Brian, I love AJ."
"You don't know him." Brian told me.
"Brian, I've known AJ just as long as I've known you, and AJ and I have talked about everything. I do know AJ." Brian had nothing to say. "Brian, I have never in my life felt like a guy loved me. Sure, I've been in relationships, but I've never felt a mutual love."
"Are you saying you feel that with AJ?" Brian asked.
"Yes, I am, Brian. I know with all my heart that he loves me.
"I know that, too." Brian said under his breath.
"What?"
"I know that he loves you, but I also know that AJ has--"
"Needs." I cut him off. "We've had this discussion, Brian. Whatever happens between AJ and I happens because it's meant to happen."
"So, what has happened?" Brian inquired. I was stuck.
"Um...well..."
"You don't have to say it." Brian rolled his eyes.
"Brian, I know I did the right thing. Like I said, I love him." I smiled.
"I know." Brian pulled me in for a hug.
"Brian..." I started. He looked at me. "My parents were killed." Brian looked stunned. "That's why I moved to Kentucky. I didn't want to be alone in L.A. My dad was a clothing designer. He owned his own modeling agency. My mom...she was beautiful. She was a director." I paused.
"I know who your parents were." Brian quietly informed me.
"What?" I choked out.
"Mom told me that Kaylyn Cole was Dad's sister. I just never wanted to tell you that I knew. I knew you didn't want to tell me."
"I wanted to tell you, Brian. I just couldn't." I cried.
"I understand." Brian pulled me back into his arms.
