Faith Outside, Heartache Beneath

~*~Prologue~*~

I guess I never really had it that bad. In fact, my life was great. My dad owned his own modeling agency. I mean, come on. How cool was that? He even threw me in on some of the cat walks some nights. I loved it. I got to strut what stuff I had with all those professionals. Dad was hanging out with people like Gucci, Versaci, Tommy, and Calvin while Mom hid behind the silver screen. That's right, behind. She was a director. The best in Hollywood. She was beautful, too. Needless to say, I was quite popular at school. When I did go. Mom always let me tag along at work. I did the modeling for fun, but I would beg Mom for hours to let me go to work with her. Acting was my passion. She'd let me do a few walk-on rolls. Nothing big. Just the typical 'would you like fries with that?' role. She said I was too young to get caught up in all of that 'mess'.

Still, I watched from behind the scenes and hung out at all of the great parties Mom was invited to. I'd met some great people. That is, if you think Jack Nicholson, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Kate Winslet are great. I was completely star struck. Especially with Jack. He's a definite classic.

My mom's agent, Seth, had always promised me a movie deal when I turned 21. I was anticipating the day. Maybe it was just 'Hollywood' talk, but I still had hope. My life was perfect. We lived in a two story...estate. It was equiped with two pools, a bowling alley, a few hot tubs...and everything else you can imagine.

My favorite thing was my dog. Out of all that I had...Tipsy was my favorite. He was a brown little, husky looking dog. He looked like a big chocalate cotton ball. Tipsy slept at my feet every night. My mother had done a movie with Freddie and I came to the set every day. Freddie had a white dog like Tipsy and I couldn't get over his cuteness...the dog’s, that is.

So, on the last day of shooting, Freddie brought me Tipsy. Mom almost killed him! Yep, everything was perfect. Then...it all ended.

The one day I go to school, I was called out of class. Fourth period, Calculus. They told me that it was an accident. That...that their car was completely totaled. That my parents were dead. I was so shocked I couldn't even cry. It was the last day of my Senior year. They let me graduate early so I could 'work on my problems'.

Everything we had suddenly became mine. I was offered a chance to move to Kentucky to live with my aunt and uncle. I had never met them, but I figured why not? I had nothing better to do with my life. It was my mother's brother and his wife. My Mom told me a few things about them. She said they were great people, but after she married Dad, things just kinda drifted apart.

So...a week after the funeral, I packed up everything in a U-Haul trailor attatched to my black BMW and headed for Kentucky. Aunt Jackie and Uncle Harold. I was excited to meet them. Despite the fact that they didn't even come to see my parents funeral. I'm sure there was a reason.

So, there I was. On my way. On my way to a new life. How exciting? Maybe I could move on. I just had to get away from all that press. Lexington, Kentucky had to be the place to do it.
