~*~Chapter 20~*~

"Carlon, did you hear?" Freddie burst into my bedroom.

"Oh, Freddie, come on in." I said sarcastically.

"The date for the premiere party has been set." He informed me.

"Really?" I picked up the magazine off my nightstand and flipped through it.

"It's a week from today."

"That soon?" I looked up at him. "I don't have time to find a dress, get an appointment in at Paul Mitchel's...and buy new makeup."

"Typical." Freddie rolled his eyes. "Look, I'll help you pick out a dress, and...you do your hair and makeup great. No one will know the difference."

"Fine." I said turning the page. "I'm gonna look dumb anyway. My first movie and I go to the premiere alone."

"Aww..." Freddie brushed a lock of my hair behind my ear. "You can go with me."

"What about Kimberly?" I snarled.

"She can't make it down. I was going to go with Seth, but...I'll take you."

"Fine." I sighed.

"I'm gonna leave you to get ready."

"Where are we going?" I looked up again.

"Shopping." He almost yelled.

"Sorry." I turned my lip up at him before smiling. He left the room. I turned the page and then looked down. There was AJ. It was a picture taken at a Britney Spears album release party. I stared at the piture for a moment before heading to the shower. Like I said before, I couldn't let him get me down anymore. It was over. I'd screwed up. Now, I was moving on.

I came out of the bathroom drying my hair with a towel. On my chest of drawers there was a vase full of hydrangeas. They were my favorite flower. I stopped in my tracks. Who were they from? No one knew what my favorite flower was. Well, my parents and...and AJ. I walked over to them slowly and picked up the card.

"I'm gonna miss you, kid. Love, Freddie." I grabbed my heart and sighed. I wasn't sure if I was dissapointed or overwhelmed. The way my heart was beating, I knew I wasn't the least bit over AJ. Just to have that feeling again. Those butterflies. The thought that AJ sent me flowers. Then...to realize he didn't. To realize that I screwed up, and he was gone. I wanted to cry, but I didn't have time. I had to find a dress.

"This one's nice." Freddie said pointing to a God awful puke green colored dress.

"Sure is." I said touching it as if it had a disease.

"We're gonna be here all day, aren't we?"

"You wanted to come." I told him holding an electric blue dress up to my figure. "What do you think?" I asked him.

"Mexican hooker?" Freddie shrugged his shoulders and raised his eyebrows.

"I like it." I said modeling in front of the mirror.

"Okay, but I hope you can say 'wanna get laid' in spanish."

"Shut up." I hit him on the shoulder before putting the dress back on the rack.

"You better hurry." Freddie said holding his shoulder. "Tipsy's gonna have a fit if you're not home by lunch." My eyes got caught on a dress. Freddie kept talking, but I didn't hear him. It had only take two hours...but I'd found the perfect dress.
