Time was quickly passing and Brian and I were getting a lot closer. The thing was, so were me and AJ. In some way I think it might have bothered Brian. In fact, I know it did. I just didn't know that at the time. I'd only been in Kentucky for a week and a half, but I already felt comfortable there. Brian was so nice to me. I'd never had a cousin before him. Hollywood was my family. I didn't know anything else.
AJ made me feel even more at home. Despite the fact that he didn't even live there. In a few months all of the guys would be gone. Off to tour, then back home to Orlando. Even Brian. I wondered every day if I'd still feel 'at home' when they were all gone. Kevin and Nick's girlfriends had flown in from Florida about three days after the guys got there. Danielle and Angela were there names. They were both really nice.
Howie left Kentucky early to be with his family in his hometown. I found myself hanging out with Danielle and Angela a lot. Layla would sometimes go with us to shop and stuff, but she was usually with Brian.
I sat on the couch next to AJ. Danielle and Kevin were sitting at the coffee table playing a game of poker. "Danielle, you can't win with a four, a two, and a six." Kevin told her. Danielle slowly folded her cards and layed them face down on the table.
"So, how many have you won now?" She casually asked.
"Eight." AJ answered followed by a laugh. Danielle shot AJ a glare.
"Did I ask you?" She shot. AJ just laughed.
"Is something wrong?" AJ asked me as he slipped his arm around my sholder and pulled me closer. I couldn't help thinking about how much I needed to tell AJ about my life.
"No, no, I'm fine." I lied.
"You're lying." He assumed. Why was he always right? He'd known me for a week and he still always knew.
"You're right, I am."
"Wanna talk about it?" He asked me. I shook my head no. It just wasn't time. "Okay." AJ kissed me. I might not have loved him yet, but I loved his kiss. He let the kiss deepen.
"Hey!" Kevin yelled from the floor. "Stop." He said disgusted.
"Sorry." AJ and I said in unison.
"Come on, baby. Let's go somewhere else." Kevin grabbed Danielle's hand and led her off. As they left, AJ layed me back on the couch and finished our kiss. He rested his hand on my hip.
"Whoah!" We heard Nick say. AJ quickly sat up, and I followed. Nick and Angela sat down across from us.
"Were you two busy?" Angela joked.
"Not at all." I smiled.
"So, did you and Layla have fun shopping today?" I asked Brian later that night. The two of us sat at the table after dinner.
"Yeah, I did." He answered. The rest of the gang had all moved to the den. "Carlon, what's your story?"
"Brian, you know I can't talk about it." I told him.
"No, I know you won't. Why are you so afraid?"
"I just am." I strongly answered.
"We leave in two more weeks, Carlon. I don't won't you to think you can't talk to me." We sat silent for a moment. "In fact, Carlon, why don't you come on tour with us."
"No, Brian, I couldn't do that."
"Come on. It'd be so much fun. Layla, Danielle, and Angela are going. Plus, you'd get to spend time with AJ." He smiled.
"Are you just doing this so I'll tell you about my past?" I asked him.
"No, I'm not." Brian grabbed my hand. "Please, cuz."
"Fine, Brian. You win."
