Howie pulled into a parking lot and opened the door for Allie. He grabbed the blanket out of his trunk and he put his arm around her and she snuggled in to mold into his body, and the 2 walked to the pathway.
"Where are we going Howie?"
"Well I want you to see a secret of mine" Howie led her down the pathway and onto the beach. Allie and Howie took off their shoes and walked barefoot in the sand, listening to the waves crash along the rocky shore. They walked hand in hand in silence, both taking in the sounds of the evening. Howie stopped and laid the blanket out in front of a huge tree and helped Allie sit.
"Howie this is beautiful, but why are we here, I mean..." Allie was embarassed the way the question came out.
Howie smiled and laid down on his side looking up at Allie "Can I entrust you with a secret of my heart?"
"Of course.." Allie smiled at the beatiful man lying beside her.
"I started a real estate business a couple of years back and we already have built 4 condominiums, but this piece of land is extremly important to me, and one day I hope that the woman I love and I can build a beautiful home here and start a family."Howie blushed.
"Howie that is beautiful, but what happens if you never marry?"
"Well then the land shall stay untouched forever, I found this land on the day my sister Caroline died, I had come here to get away and while I was walking and talking to her and asking her to send me a sign that she was fine, I stumbled upon a duck and its ducklings resting on the sand in this very spot, I know this sounds corny but I knew that Caroline had sent them to me to tell me to get on with my life and find a woman who would make me complete. I went right out and purchesed the deed and it is now mine." Howie looked at Allie who was wiping tears from her eyes. " I didn't mean to make you cry.." Howie moved over and laid his head in Allie's lap and looked up at her.
"Howie I have to confess, I have never had a serious relationship, I mean I dated but never seriously, I never thought there was a point to it, I mean why waste a year of your life on a guy who doesn't want to commit...I guess I have never met anyone who I would want to waste a year of my life on. " Allie looked down at Howie.
"Allie, that is the most truthful thing I have heard in a while. How will you know though that you are with the right guy if you never give them a chance to get to know you."
"My dad always told Chia and I that until we could find someone who had the same desires, wants, and dreams as us that we should not risk damaging the love that god put in our hearts, so far I have never met anyone who wants the same things as me so I am alone." Allie looked down and realized that she had been stroking Howie's hair as she talked. "I guess that sounds like I am really stuck up and snobby..."
"Not at all, Caroline always told me to never sell myself short, that life is too short to risk spending it with the wrong person, but that when i found the right one to do everything I could to make the love prosper, she always said that money comes and goes but real love stays in your heart forever."
Allie yawned..." I am so sorry, I guess back to back late nights are catching up to me, what a way to ruin a beautiful and heartfelt evening of self dicovery...I am so sorry"
Howie smiled " I don't want you to turn into a pumpkin so i guess I had better get you home. He picked up the blanket and shook it out, folded it and the 2 headed for the car.
On the way home the 2 talked about their plans for the next day.
"Well I have rehearsal until noon but after that I am free though I should go and hang out for a bit with my brother John"
" Well since you have kidnapped me two days in a row I have a date with my laptop." Allie grinned.
"I will come over and rescue you for dinner around 7 pm...okay?'
"Sure but you have to promise to not keep me hostage for too long okay?'
"Deal.." Howie pulled up into her lane way and saw no lights on in the house. " Hmm I guess Chia fell for AJ's plan" Howie said grinning.
" I guess it is me and Max again tonight..so are you going to tell me where AJ took my sister?"
"Wild boars could not drag it out of me.."
Allie leaned over and kissed Howie's neck..." I bet this wild girl could drag it out of you...but never mind I will just wait for Chia to get home...good night Howie" Allie laughed as she saw the surprised and disapointed look on Howie's face...
"What no goodnight kiss.." Howie pouted.
"Nope that will teach you to mess with this redhead and tease her...now go home." Allie blew a kiss and ran into the house.
Howie was laughing as he drove away... He knew that persuing Allie was going to be fun.
"Well Max buddy, he wants me bad" Allie laughed as she ran upstairs to
get
ready for bed...
