Allie woke up and saw Howie curled up in a chair...She whispered his name and smiled as she saw the curls that had escaped his gelled creation, tumble into his eyes. Howie opened his eyes and smiled. He walked over and kissed her
"Sweet Pea, we will get through this.."
"I know Howie" and she fell back asleep.

Allie had signed the release papers from the hospital and she was on her way to the police station to give her statement when the car they were getting into was bombarded with reporters. Howie screamed no comment and held Allie tight as they tried to slam the car door.
"Dammit why the hell can't they leave us alone?" Howie cried.

At the station Allie gave her full report and watched as Howie turned white as she told the details. Howie turned to her during her statement and asked one simple question "why didn't you tell me?" and he started to cry.
Allie couldn't give him an answer and just hung her head. The police
told
her that she would be under 24 hour watch and that a plain clothes
office
would be stationed in her house until they could get a lead on the
suspect.
