"Good morning Allie Dawson"
"Hey beautiful"
"Hey yourself Sexy" Allie was grinning as she heard her boyfriends' voice. Chia had left to go back to England and she had just started back to work. The case was set to start on Monday and she was working overtime to get ready. She had batted around stepping down from the case, but when she had found out that the murdered stalker was the defendant's lover Allie balked and vowed to make sure that the woman who had killed her husband and the pregnant 17 year old mistress was going to rot in jail.
" I thought you and AJ were going to see Madonna tonight."
"We are just getting ready to leave but I wanted to say I love you and to make sure you were alright." Howie was still very worried about Allie, he wished he could be there to help her get through the ordeal but he also knew that she was a very strong willed and independent woman and he wanted to give her all the space she needed.
"I am fine worry wart...I love you, tell AJ I said hello." Allie kissed the phone and hung up. She leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. She needed to talk to her father and as long as she closed her eyes she could picture her dad's smile and the patient look he always gave her as she told him her problems.
"Hi Daddy, I hope you and momma are having a grand time, daddy I need some advice, I am thinking of telling Howie I need a break, I know I love him Daddy but I need to concentrate on the case and I can't when I am worried about neglecting him...daddy how do I do it without hurting him...daddy tell me what to do..." Allie looked at the picture of Howie and she at the Music Awards and she knew what to do.

" Hi Monkey, it's me AJ, I am leaving for the concert, call me on my cell when you get in, I love you and miss you like crazy..."
AJ hung up the phone and sat on his bed. Chia had been very distant to him lately and he was getting worried. She wasn't the same crazy and carefree Chia that he had fallen in love with that evening on his deck 8 months ago. He knew she was having a hard time dealing with her parents, her sister's attack and moving to another country but he had offered her help many times and she always told him she was fine. He started to cry as he realized how close he was to losing the one woman he dreamt of sharing his life with for eternity.

"Alicia, I know you have experienced a lot of tradgedies this year and I also know how brilliant you are, that's why this is hard for me tell you." Mr. Borwick her boss looked across the table from her and started to say the words that would soon lead to her downfall. "We think you need some time to heal and get your head straight, we are termintaing your contract, but when you are straightned out we will consider activating your contract, I am sorry Alicia"
Chia stood up and walked out of the office without saying a word. She picked up her jacket, her briefcase and the framed picture of her parents and walked out of the office. She knew exactly what she was going to do and she didn't want to wait another moment.
