AJ woke up and saw Chia sitting up in bed watching him sleep. He smiled and reached for her "Hey monkey, you gave me a big surprise when I saw you last night."
Chia eased over and sat with her head against AJ's chest "AJ I lost my job, and I know I can't go home, I can't face Allie, Baby I had the world and I let it crash down on me" Chia was choking up as she told AJ about her problems of late.
"Chia I could have helped you, all you had to do was ask, you shouldn't have gone through this alone." AJ pulled her into his lap and held her as she cried.
When they finally broke apart AJ looked at her "Baby you know you are going to have to tell Allie the truth, I think she will know something is up when she calls and they tell her you lost your job."
"How am I supposed to tell her I screwed up, she was so proud of me, you don't understand I have always been the strong one, I can't face her, she is making headlines and I am unemployed..god why can;t things ever be easy for us."
AJ held her and couldn't find the answer she wanted to hear.

The phone rang in Howie's room but he ignored it, unless the phone call was Allie saying she had made a mistake and she was coming back he didn't want to hear from anyone. He put his discman on and looked up at the ceiling as Celine Dion droned on about true love.

Allie was at the office trying in vain to concentrate on the brief that needed to be filed by noon that day, all she kept replaying in her mind was the look of devestation in Howie's eyes, the pleading touch of his hands and the sound of his heart breaking. "Daddy I hope I did the right thing," Allie said a silent prayer to her father and called Drew.
"Hello"
"Drew did I wake you?"
"Allie is that you?" Drew hadn't heard from Allie in over 2 weeks, the last time they had talked he had come back from a club in Calgary, where they were touring in Canada and he had called her in the early hours of the morning, he had told her how much he liked her and how he wished he had met her before Howie had.
"Drew I just needed to hear a friendly voice, I am going crazy trying to get a brief filed, I haven't heard from Chia, and Howie and I broke up."
"Run that by me again..you and Howie broke up, holy shit what happened?" Drew knew how much she loved Howie and happy she was with him.
"Things were moving too fast Drew, the feelings I had were scaring me and I didn't knwo how to handle them." Allie started to cry.
"Allie I am sorry, I wish there was something I could say, but to be truthful there isnt..."
"I know, I just needed to hear someone's voice that's all. So how is the tour going?"
"We are heading home to start recording our new album, as you know, we will be back on Tuesday for a couple of weeks and then back out on tour and then recording."
"You know I am proud of you guys right, I mean your song has been number one for weeks and Jeff called me and told me that you were just nominated for an MTV Award...Actually I have to call Daniel and ask him to send me the contract for your performance on the awards, I have to negotiate on a couple of the details."
"Allie can I ask you a favour?" Drew was nervous.
"Sure Drew, what's up?"
"Well would you be my date for the awards show, we can go just as friends or even lawyer and client, up to you."
"Drew I don't think so, I mean Howie and the guys will be there and I was supposed to go with Howie, Drew it is just too soon."
"No it's not, Allie please come, it will help you get your mind off everything, you will be able to go to a kick ass party and most importantly have the pleasure of escorting the most eligible bachelor on the music scene."
Allie cracked up, she never could take Drew seriously, he reminded her of Nick. "All right how can I say no to that...Oh my other line is going off, I will talk to you later.."
Allie hung up and smiled, she knew that Drew would get her out of her slump.

AJ and Chia got up to go to breakfast when they met Nick in the hall "What are you doing here, I mean when did you get here..wow you simpson girls are full of surprises."
"Hi nick, what was that supposed to mean?" Chia asked Nick
"You mean you didn't know that Allie was here last night?" Nick asked confused.
"Allie was here, last night, wow nothing like coming 1500 miles for a quickie" AJ smirked.
"AJ that is not funny, Allie broke up with Howie last night, I have been trying his room all night but he isn't answering the phone, and I am really worried." Nick said.
"Allie did what?????" Both Chia and AJ asked in unison. "She took the red eye in to talk to him, guys she was devestated when she left here.."
"We better go find out what the hell is going on, if that bitch hurt D I am going to kill her." AJ muttered.
"Bitch??? That is my sister you are trashing, she had to have a good reason to break it off with him..." Chia snapped at AJ.
"Chia not now.." AJ shouted as he ran down the hall and pounded on Howie's door. "D it's me, open up, D....dammit open up." AJ pounded and pounded until his fist was red..."Nick call my mom and tell her to get Randy up here.." AJ said with panic..."Howie...answer me!"

Howie was lying in bed with his eyes closed listening to his discman umaware of what was taking place outside his door, he was reliving all the good times he and Allie had, he saw her walking in the cemetary the first day he had met her, the way her hair was whipped around by the wind, franticly holding onto her skirt and to Max. Howie was jolted out of bed by the crashing of his door onto the floor. "WHAT THE FUCK!!" Howie jumped out of bed and saw AJ, Nick, Chia and all of their security personel standing around the now caved in door.
"Howie we were worried why didn;t you answer." Nick scolded.
"Jesus I didn't know that listening to a walkman in the privacy of my own hotel room was a felony" Howie snapped.
"Sorry D, we were just worried, Nick told us about Allie" AJ said quietly.
"Oh what did she run right to you and blab her poor pathetic life story.." Howie said angrily.
"No I ran into her in the lobby, she was upset and asked her what was wrong, she is hurting you know D" Nick said.
"Well she brought it on herself, everything was fine until she got a little stressed and then decided she needed to dump me...Now get the fuck out of my room" Howie stormed into the bathroom and slammed the door.
Nick turned to the others " I think he needs some time"
AJ and Chia walked out and the rest followed. Nick stayed behind and said loudly " D if you need to talk I am here for you" and he too turned and walked out.
After Howie heard the last person leave and the door shut he leaned
back
onto the door and cried. Not in his wildest nightmares could he have
ever
thought that Allie would have left him.
