One year Later
Allie and Howie had become closer as the year went on, they had learned to grow without each other and both were now very strong people. They were still just friends but they both knew that they now wanted more. Nick was still single but he was learning to deal with it, he had now discovered that he enjoyed playing the field and being featured in every magazine with a new beauty on his arm.
Chia and AJ were still together, Chia was now employed full time as the boys accountant, and the added perk was that she could travel with the boys and be close to AJ.
Allie and Drew had tried to date but they discovered that they were much better as friends and the 2 continued building their friendship.

"Coming" Allie screamed as she ran out of the wasroom of her hotel suite and answered the door.
"Hi Howie" Allie smiled as she looked at her friend dressed in jeans and sweater, "I just have to grab my keys and we can head out" Howie had arranged for a weekend in New York City for Allie's birthday. Today he had a surprise for his best friend.
"Let's go" Allie tied the sweatshirt around her waist and ran out the door.
"God, fall is my favourite season, mother nature sure knows how to paint pretty scenery, I wish my dad could be here, after all our dream was to go horseback riding in central park and look at the changing colour of the leaves." Allie said as she looked out of the window of the limo.
Howie smiled as he thought of what he had planned. The limo pulled up in front of central park and the 2 exited the car.
Howie pointed at the horse drawn carriage and asked Allie if she would like to take a ride.
"I would love to" Howie helped Allie into the carriage and the two were talking and looking at the joggers, the men playing chess and the frisbee players enjoying the brisk automn day. Allie stopped when she saw 2 horses tied to a tree. The carriage stopped and Howie helped her off of the carriage.
"Howie, what's going on?" Allie asked
"Well I knew you and your father had planned this trip and I wanted to help you make it reality, now pay attention so that you can tell your father about it afterwards. Howie helped her onto her horse and the two rode through central park, they came to the river and Allie saw balloons, and streamers attached to the trees, she saw Brian and Nick playing basketball and she saw Chia and AJ lying on a blanket. "Howie?"
"Happy birthday sweet pea" Howie helped her off of her horse and the two walked over to her friends.

The group had a barbeque, they played frisbee and ate cake, they all sang happy birthday to Chia and to Allie. They were deciding what to do that evening when Howie pulled Allie away from the group and sat her down on a blanket under a tree. He pulled his guitar out from behind the tree and started to sing " I knew I loved you before I met you, I dreamed of you before I knew you existed" Allie felt her eyes well with tears and she listened to Howie's soft voice sing the most beautiful song she had ever heard. When he finished she pulled him close and the two shared their first kiss in over a year, and as the rest of the group left to get ready for the evening Howie and Allie made their way back to Allie's hotel and made love for the first time as a couple. After as Allie lay naked in Howie's arms she thought back to how hard it had been on Chia and her when their parents died, and how they both thought they would never survive on their own, well they both had sucessful careers, men who loved them and a sister relationship that was growing stronger each week.
She looked up into the heaven's and said "thank you to both of you for
sending us our happiness and our destinies.." and then she slept.
