"Well long time no see stranger" Kim Ann teased as Denise hugged the woman, who just hours previous had been eating dinner with her.
"Well I ran into Sky and she insisted that I tag along, although I am wondering why 3 stunning young women would want an old coot like me to hang out with them"
"Denise if there is one thing you are not it is an old coot" Jessi smiled and embraced her husband's surrogate mother. "You look fantastic Dee" the four women settled into the booth and ordered a round of drinks.
"So ladies can I start the evening with a He is so much like Nick it is scary, story"
"Oh oh what did Chucky do today?" Jessi groaned, she and Howie often teased Kim Ann and Nick that Alex was Chucky incarnate.
"I walk into the living room and there he is sitting on Molly's head, so I call him on it and he grins and says I wont smother her momma I just tooted on her head and then he burst out laughing. I swear who needs Nick at home when you have Alex"
"Kymmi I hate to say this but I think that little Alex inherited some of my Alex's energy. Alex was always getting into trouble, your head would spin if you knew half of it"
"Well if Alex turns out to be half the man AJ was I will be very proud to have him as my son" Kim Ann winked at Denise and picked up the drinks that the server had delivered "To an evening filled with laughter and great friends"

"Brian she blurted it out, I mean not once has she ever dropped a hint that she wanted to get married. Hell the last time we walked by a jewelry store and I tried to show her rings she cringed and walked over to the chains instead." Nick, Brian, Kevin and Howie were all eating dinner before the show.
"Nicky I think it is hitting her, I mean first Skylar, then AJ proposed to Molly, Jessi and I, you and Leigh and now Crissy and Brent. I think that she is finally realising that everyone around her is getting married." Howie tried to shed some light on the subject.
"She always has said that she didn't need a peice of paper to show her true feelings for me, she said as long as we both knew that we loved each other that noone else needed to know"
"Nick you have to follow your heart on this one, do you want to marry her?"
"I want the world to know how much I love her, I want to look at her finger and know that the band that she wears was put there by me, and I want to stand up and toast my beautiful wife on our wedding day"
"Then you need to make that a reality buddy" Brian patted his friend's shoulder and looked over at his cousin who was absent mindedly tearing the napkin into tiny peices. "Kev are you okay, you have been non existent all day?"
Kevin looked up from the mess he was making "I just have a lot of thinking to do, that's all"
"Anything we can help you with?" Howie asked quietly, knowing what the problem was.
"No but thanks" Kevin smiled and then resumed his thinking.

"It never fails to amaze me sometimes, Howie always knows when I need to hear his voice, I swear he is going to have to keep touring just to pay off our phone bills. I am really excited though about going out on tour next week, it feels like he has been gone a year instead of just a month"
"Jessi I am envious, I can't get off work, and the kids will miss too much school"
"Kymmi they are in kindergarten for god's sake, how much could they possibly miss?"
"Nick and I are adament about making sure that the twins lead a normal life, it is bad enough that their mom and dad are a bunch of workaholics, the last thing they need is to be pulled out of school, away from their friends. I am trying to work my vacation around their spring break and then we could fly out and see Nick, nothing is settled though." Kim Ann turned her attention to her best friend "Skeelo you have been awfully quiet tonight, what's up with you?"
"Work is really getting to me, Benjamin and I have been working a lot of overtime trying to get this campaign ready"
”Is Benjamin the friend you were visiting tonight?" Denise asked, putting Skylar on the spot.
"NO" Skylar snapped. She looked across the table and saw her friend's shocked expressions and realised that she had snapped. " Sorry, it has been a really long day and I am quite tired, would you all be terribly upset if I skipped out early?"
"Skeelo are you sure you are alright?"
"I am fine, maybe a long bath and a call to Kevin will make me feel better, see you all soon" Skylar got up from the booth and walked out of the resteraunt.
"Ladies we need to talk" Denise started to explain about the scene earlier that evening.

"She would never cheat on Kevin, ever..Skylar loves Kevin so much, she was probably just working hard and was stressed out" Kim Ann tried to find an excuse for her friend's behaviour but she was having a hard time, as she too was beginning to doubt her friend.
"Well something is wrong her, she has been very moody and secretive and Howie says that Kevin is going crazy with worry"
"I will talk to her" Kim Ann offered.
"No Kymmi, let me..please?" Denise smiled "I think I know what is wrong and I think I know how to handle it"

"Nicky..."
"Baby you are smashed..I take it that you and the girls had a good time.. is Mel there, is she watching the twins?" Nick asked, amused by his girlfriend's drunken state.
"She is here, the twins are fine, baby I miss you so much, I came home tonight and all I wanted to do was make love to your beautiful body but you weren't here. Nicky I am not handling this too well" Kim Ann was crying as she spoke to her boyfriend.
"Sweet pea you are doing an incredible job"
"NO..Nicky I miss you, I miss seeing you with the twins..If I told you that I wanted you to quit the tour would you?"
Nick's heart sank "I would in a minute, Kymmi you are drunk and now is not the time for you to be spilling out your heart to me, baby go take 2 tylenols and a big glass of water and go to bed, I will call you in the morning."
"NO Nicky, please don't hang up, I need to hear your voice tonight, Nicky how come you never asked me to marry you, are you embarrased of me?" Kim Ann's head was pounding and she was not thinking clearly.
"WHAT...How can you think that? Kimberley Ann I love you with all my heart and if you want to get married we will"
"No I don't want to get married, I don't know why I said that...baby I am going to go check on the twins. I love you" Kim Ann fumbled to hang the phone up and as she tried to climb out of bed she decided to forget it and fell asleep.
Nick stared at the phone "Kymmi what are you trying to tell me?"

"Kevin I don't like where this is heading...you selfish asshole. Have I ever
once asked you where you were when your children and I waited all night for
you to call us, after you promised you would? Have I ever questioned
you..NO..I have stood by and raised OUR kids while you went off and
travelled the world. Now because I have a life outside of you and the kids
you get jealous and accuse me of having an affair..sometimes I wonder what
the hell I ever saw in you in the first place, how could I have been fooled
into thinking you were this sensitive and thoughtful man" Skylar slammed
down the phone and curled up into a ball on her bed and let her sobs rack
her body. "Kevin if only you knew what I was doing, if only I could tell
you"
