"Hold on sweet cheeks we are almost there" Nick cried as he stroked Kim Ann's face. "Come on baby keep your eyes open for me, let me see those beautiful eyes"
Kim Ann tried to pull the oxygen mask off her mouth. She was scared and the cramps were so intense that she thought they were going to rip her in two. The emergency technician tried to hold her down but she fought with him.
"Shh baby, come on you need to relax, this cannot be helping the baby, come on baby I am right here" Nick stared into his girlfriend's dilated eyes and smiled. "It will be all better soon"

"Jane, we need you at the hospital asap. Kim Ann is in distress with the baby, they are on route to the hospital as we speak" Brian tried to calm down his best friend's mother. "See you soon" He turned to the room, "Let's go guys" and the friends ran out of the room.

"Mr Carter, the fetus is dead, it looks to have been deceased for at least 4 days" the kind looking old doctor delivered the dreadful news to the young man.
"How is my fiancee?"
"She is resting comfortably, I do need to talk to you about the next step in this process?" and the doctor and Nick walked into his office.

"You're telling me there is a chance she might die? No I won't allow it, my child has already been taken from me I am not going to risk losing her too" Nick was crying as he listened to what the doctor was telling him. "Can you excuse me for a moment please?" and he walked out into the lobby and searched for his mother.
"Nicky....oh my god how is she?"
"We lost the baby, momma they need to operate on her, they want me to sign a form giving them permission to operate on her." Nick cried in his mother's arms.
"Nicky he needs to do the D&C. Baby it is not fair to Kymmi. She has been walking around with your dead child in her for 4 days to long. Baby let them do this operation and get on with the healing process." Jane kissed her son and stroked his hair. "Nicky I know you are scared but you need to think about Kim Ann on this. Would you want to carry around a dead child in your womb, you cannot wait for her to pass the fetus."
"DAMN YOU ALL, STOP CALLING IT A FETUS, IT IS A BABY, MY BABY AND I LOVE IT" Nick ran down the hall and crouched on the pavement, gasping for air. "Why, why would you take this child from us? We have been so good to the twins, we were so excited about this child" Nick screamed at the sky. "Bone how could you let them take our child?"
"Nicky it wasn't the right time sweetheart, God was missing an angel and needed your child to take on that role. Your baby is with Alex and Molly and they are spoiling it with love." Denise crouched on the sidewalk with Nick and gathered him in her arms. "Nicky I know how hard it is too lose a child but trust me when I tell you that you need to move on. You need to help Kymmi heal and you need to be strong for those two beautiful children who are waiting for their parents at home."
"Denise Kymmi is going to be devestated"
"She will have to deal with it Nicky, you need to work with her to help her. Baby boy it will all work out. Always remember that I am here if you need me" Denise hugged him tight "Now let's get back in there, you have some papers to sign" Denise and Nick walked hand in hand back into the hosptial.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Hannah said cooly to her mother as she walked into the house.
"Hannah I am here to talk to your father, where is he?"
"They are all at the hospital Auntie Kim was rushed there, you mean you didn't know." Hannah watched as her mother turned white and ran out of the house.

"Dear God please let our friend and your daughter Kim Ann make it through this surgery. We ask this in Jesus Christ our lord" The friends were saying a prayer when Skylar burst into the waiting room. "WHERE IS SHE, IS SHE ALRIGHT?"
"For god's sake Skylar do you always have to be the center of attention. Calm down." Kevin said annoyed.
"Fuck off Kevin, I want to know how she is"
Denise walked over to the upset woman and placed her hands on Skylar's arms "Sky honey, she lost the baby and she is undergoing a D&C right now."
"Oh my god, it's all my fault, I should never have put her under this much strain"
"Not only did you ruin my life but you also killed the baby of your best friend. You will have that baby's blood on your concience for the rest of your life. You selfish bitch" Kevin cried and walked out of the room. Brian and Leighanne ran to follow him.
"He hates me, he is right, where is Nick I need to apoligize" Skylar screamed.
"Sky it isn't going to do you any good, Kevin is upset, as he should be, you know he didn't mean what he said. Why don't you go home and we will call you" Jessi tried to calm her friend down.
"No I can't leave her, I have to be here when she wakes up"
"Skylar you have done enough for one lifetime. You hurt my brother and you killed my unborn child. You are not welcome in my life or those of my family's. Your presence here is pissing me off and I want you to leave" Nick stood in the doorway and glared at the woman who he once considered his friend.
"NICKOLAS GENE" Jane screamed.
"Mom do not try to sugar coat this..Skylar I want you to leave. Let me cool down, if I ever can, and then I will call you, until then stay the hell away from me and my family" Nick sat down beside Howie and stared at the floor.
"Come on Skeelo I will walk you out to your car" Jessi wrapped her arm around her distraught friend and walked out of the room.
"That was unforgivably rude Nickolas" Jane scolded.
"Mom you know I love you and you know I respect you so forgive me when I say this...FUCK OFF! You have been meddling in my life for far too long. I am 25 years old and I am a father. You need to let me grow up. How I choose to live my life is no longer your concern. I love you but you are crossing the line...Howie I need a coffee want to come with me?" Nick turned to his friend who was staring at him stunned at his outburst.
"Umm sure Nicky I will go with you buddy" Howie followed his friend out into the hallway.
"Man that felt good" Nick shouted "Did you see the look on her face..I have been waiting to that for years" and then walked away.

"Skylar give him some time, he will come around. He is just freaking out over Kim Ann and the baby. We are all on edge. I love you girl and I will call you tonight" Jessi hugged her tight.
"Howie won't let you call me, I hurt his best friend"
"Howie is my husband, he is not my keeper. You are one of my best friends and although I think you are incredibly stupid and useless for what you have done I also know that you did it for a reason. I am always here for you and I will never turn my back on you"
"Thank you Jessi..I am staying at Nikola's if you need to find me"
"You are staying at Nick's step sister's house. Oh he is going to love that"
Jessi grinned. "I love you girl" and she said a silent prayer as her friend
drove off that they would all survive this storm.
