Molly shifted in her bed. She stared up at the ceiling and the patterns of light from outside calmed her. She had been awoken by a strange dream. In it her aunt Molly had appeared to her while she played in the sandbox. Her aunt sat down beside her and played with her hair the way her daddy always did. She whispered to her that she needed to be strong that her mommy and daddy were ging through a rough time and that Molly and Alex needed to make them realise how much they loved each other. She kissed Molly and told her that she loved her and then wandered off. Molly had awoken and immediatly looked for her mother, but she realised that she was at her nanny and grampie's house. She padded down the hall and into the spare bedroom where Alex was sleeping. "Alex...Alex" she tugged on her brother's pillow and crawled on top of him when he didn't wake up.
"MOLLY...stop" Alex yelled, causing Jane and Bob to run into the bedroom.
"What's wrong my precious'?" Jane sat on the bed and gathered the twins into her arms. "What is wrong?"
"Nanny I need momma, please call momma " Molly cried.
Jane turned to Bob "Call Nickolas and find out what the hell is going on and then ask him where Kim Ann is, Molly needs her"

The phone woke up Kevin, who tried to move but was wrapped up in Kim Ann's embrace. He kissed her head and buried his face back in her neck and fell back asleep.

"Goddamn it where is she?" Nick threw the phone down and ran into his mother's house. "Mom is she okay?" He asked worried.
"She is fine Nick, she had a bad dream and she wanted her mother. Any luck finding her?" Jane asked.
"No" Nick bent his head and pressed his fingers against his temple, trying to get rid of the blinding headache.
"Nicky what happened, did you two fight?" Jane sat down and put her hands on her son's hulking shoulders.
"Mom you would not even believe you if I told you" Nick started to cry. "I need to see the twins, are they in the spare bedroom?"
"Yes, Molly wouldn't go back to bed alone so they are sharing a bed. They are in the spare bedroom." Jane kissed her son. "I am going to bed but if you need to talk just wake me up. I love you Nickolas"
"I love you mom, thanks for everything" Nick hugged his mother and then walked upstairs to the spare bedroom. He creeped in and sat on the edge of the bed, watching his children sleep. "Your daddy screwed up really bad tonight munchkins. Mommy is really mad at me and she may never come home."
Nick cried and he lay down beside Molly. "I promise that I will make things better. I promise" and he fell asleep crying.

"Stop it Nick...Nick please baby...You and I...we are going to fuck...tonight...we are making a baby" Kim Ann screamed and started to thrash, unaware that the person that she was beating in her sleep was not Nick.
"Shhh...Kymmi it's me...come on doll wake up..come on" Kevin's fingertips traced her eyelids and he smiled when she opened her eyes and her expression of terror turned into one of relief.
"Kevin..thank god, I was so scared" Kim Ann clung to him.
"Nick huh?" Kevin whispered. "Kim Ann I won't let him hurt you, not ever" Kevin pulled away and gently kissed Kim Ann. The two quickly seperated and Kim Ann pulled at her robe, tying it tightly. "Maybe it would be best if I slept in the spare bedroom" she said, flushed.
"You would definalty be more comfortable" Kevin led her into the bedroom and handed her an extra blanket. "I don't want you to be cold."
"Thanks Kevin, for everything"
Kevin kissed her cheek "Kim Ann we are family, and family always sticks together" and he walked out, trying to shake the memory of the kiss and how it had rocked him to his core.

Kevin heard the baby cry. He slipped on a pair of jogging pants and walked into the baby's room. "HI big guy" he picked him up and walked into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for his son and the rest of the kids who would soon be up. He put Zak in the highchair and was about to reach for the milk when he saw a letter propped up against the toaster. He opened it and smiled when he saw Kim Ann's bubbly writing.

I have a lot of thinking to do. I am gone to pick up the twins and take them to the park. If you want some company that's where you will find me.
Thank you ever so much for the shoulder you leant me to cry on and the comforting arms that held me while I slept.
If Nick calls please don't tell him where I am. I need some time.

Kevin smiled. He knew that Kim Ann loved him in the big brother sense but it made his heart skip when he saw the worlds I love you on paper. He was not sure what had come over him but he knew that the kiss they had shared was not one that friends shared. "Just what you need, more shit to mess up your head" Kevin thought to himself.

Kim Ann pulled into the laneway and grimaced when she saw Nick's Durango parked. "Shit he beat me to them" Kim Ann turned off the car and walked slowly to the front door.
"Kim Ann, I am so glad to see you, come in sweetheart" Jane hugged her and led her into the kitchen where Nick and the twins were eating.
"MOMMA.." Molly jumped off her chair and flew into her mother's arms. "Momma I had a bad dream and you weren't there" Molly pouted.
"Sorry pooh bear, momma was not feeling well and needed to get better, Are you all better this morning?" Kim Ann kissed her daughter and carried her over to where Alex was eating his corn puffs and playing with cars. "Hi buddy, were you good for nanny?"
"Yes momma, Molly woke me up and then she slept in the same bed as me, she is such a wuss" Nick choked on his orange juice and Kim Ann had to bite her lip so as not to laugh at her son's comment. "Alexander James, that was not very nice, apoligize to your sister" Kim Ann scolded.
"Sorry Molly" Alex said half heartedly as he continued to play cars.
Kim Ann fixed herself a cup of coffee and sat down in between the twins. She tried to watch Molly and Alex but her eyes kept wandering to Nick. Nick caught her gaze and he searched her face for a sign that she didn't hate him. He reached out for her and she recoiled. She picked up her coffee and walked out into the garden, he followed.
"Sweetpea..I am so sorry" Nick's voice cracked with emotion.
"Nick no amount of apoligizing can ever make good on what you did last night. You made me feel cheap, you treated me like whore and an animal."
"Kim Ann I was angry"
"Then scream at me, throw something but don't rape me, don't talk filth to me and don't use your anger to create a child. Nick do you think that if I find out that I am pregnant that I am going to be able to forget that the child was not created in love. It was created because you are not man enough to think things through. You are too immature and selfish to even consider helping your best friend be happy"
"THAT'S NOT FAIR...JESUS...don't tell me that you are considering Howie's offer?" Nick was crying as he asked his girlfriend.
"I am considering it Nick..Every day I look at the two miracles we have been blessed with and I say a prayer, wishing that everyone could be as lucky as us to experience the love of a child. Your best friend has asked me to give him this miracle and I cannot say no so easy, as easy as you. Nick I will be carrying the greatest gift that a man and a woman can create. Honey can you not see, sure it puts a wrech in our plans on having another baby for a while but honey this is an opportunity to make Howie and Jessi as happy as we are." Kim Ann stroked Nick's face and looked into the eyes that she loved to wake up staring into. "Please tell me you will support me on this"
"I want you out of the house, if you want to have a baby for another man you
can do your sick little thing without me and without the twins" Nick stormed
into the house and slammed the door so hard that the glass shattered. Kim
Ann fell to the ground, amongst the glass and cried.
