Nick and the twins were watching out the window of Denise's living room window for Howie's car. The twins had worked all day on the welcome home sign and Denise and Nick helped them to decorate the house. "Here they come munchkins" Nick and the twins joined Denise on the couch and waited for the front door to open.
Kim Ann walked into the house and started to cry when she saw the huge banner Welcome Home Mommy and saw Molly and Alex sitting on the couch holding flowers and flashing their mouthful of white baby teeth. "My loves" Kim Ann tried to bend down to pick them up but grimaced "God I am never going to get used to this" She sat down on the couch and smiled widely as the twins ran into her arms "momma did you like the sign, we worked on it all morning, we spilled red paint on the carpet, oops we weren't sposed to tell you, sorry daddy, momma we missed you" the twins talked a mile a minute as they welcomed their mother home.
"Munchkins I missed you both so much" Kim Ann looked at Nick and smiled "Hi you" and she motioned for him to come over.
"Welcome home sweet pea" Nick bent down to kiss her "We missed you"
Denise was near tears as she watched the family interact, they were such a stunning young couple. "I am going into the kitchen to get some drinks, Molly, Alex would you like to help me?"
"No Auntie Dee, we want to hug momma some more" Alex replied.
Denise grinned "I have ice cream bars" she bribed them with their favourite treat.
"Nope..I wanna stay here with Momma"
Denise picked them up and carried them out of the room "What happened to our little plan we talked about?" she laughed as she took the twins into the kitchen.
"How are you feeling?" Nick sat beside Kim Ann and touched her thigh.
"I am really sore, which is to be expected, but I am so happy to finally be home with the twins" Kim Ann paused "And with you"
"Sweet Pea I know that I have been a jerk, as asshole, a prick" Nick stopped when Kim Ann silenced him with a kiss.
"We can talk about this tomorrow, right now I am tired. I just want to curl
up in bed with you and the twins and sleep with you all at my side."
