( one month later)
"I love you munchkins, have fun with daddy" Kim Ann kissed the twins and waved as Aaron drove off with them. She walked back into the new, sprawling country home that she and Kevin had just taken possesion of the week before. She tied her hair in a bandana and blared the music as she dipped her roller into the light purple paint. She was painting Molly's room and she wanted to have it all done when she came back from Nick's on Sunday night. It had been a month since the fateful talk on the beach and things were better then she could have ever imagined. Nick took the twins on the weekends and they lived with Kim Ann and Kevin during the week. They were having a hard time understanding why they were living with Uncle Kevin but they were managing.
Kim Ann put the roller down on the plastic that covered the floor and ran to answer the door "You didn't have to ring you could have walked in Aar...oh hello, excuse me I thought you were someone else" Kim Ann looked at the well dressed man who was standing on the step.
"Are you Kimberley Ann Hearty, birthdate April 4, 1975?" the man asked briskly.
"Yes, is something wrong?"
"You have been served by the state of Florida" the man thrust an envelope at her and walked away before she could comprehend. She left the door open and sat crossed legged on the floor. She ripped at the envelope and gasped when she saw what it contained.
"Custody papers....oh my god" Kim Ann burst out into tears. "He promised he wouldn't do this."

Kevin pulled into the driveway and worried when he saw the front door open. The kids were out with Denise and Kim Ann was supposed to be home decorating. He climbed out of the truck and ran into the house "Kim Ann, baby...where are you?" He ran into the living room and almost tripped on a sobbing Kim Ann. He fell to the ground "What is it, my love what is it?"
Kim Ann thrust the papers at him "He promised, Kevin what am I going to do?"
Kevin read the notice "That filthy bastard." He picked up the phone and as Kim Ann cried Kevin said one sentance "D, we have to continue the plan" he hung up and cradled Kim Ann "We will get him baby, we will get him"

"Daddy, momma is decorating my room" Molly, Alex and Nick walked into the movie theatre.
Nick smiled at his daughter "Oh Molly, you won't see that room, you are going to live with me forever" he thought to himself.

"I knew it was too good to be true, I knew that the little bastard couldn't change overnight." Howie was sitting in Kim Ann and Kevin's living room discussing the latest developments. "Dammit I should never have beleived him."
Kim Ann sat curled up in Kevin's arms, sipping a warm cup of herbal tea. "I believed him, he was so delicate with me on the beach, he was the old Nick I had first fallen in love with"
"Don't worry baby, we are going to ruin him" Kevin muttered, point blank and
with no emotion.
