Man Without a Dream

Just past the heartache
is a man without a dream,
caught up in a romance,
forgetting everything...

that his mother told him
about love,
that his father told him.
What was he thinking of?

Now that he is burning,
burning like a fire out of control.
And he is hoping,
hoping no one else knows.

It's got him like a madness
from some wild erotic dream.
It's left him shaken like a man,
like a man without a dream.

He can't seem to remember
his lines from love's grand scene.
He can't see the forest
'cause he's searching for the trees.

Oh, his mother told him
about love,
and his father told him.
What was he thinking of?

Now that he is burning,
burning like a fire out of control.
And he is hoping,
hoping no one else knows,

It's got him like a madness
from some wild erotic dream.
It's left him shaken like a man,
like a man without a dream.
