Spike Dawbarn and Jimmy Constable initially started their entertainment careers as dancers on a late night tv show called "The Hitman and her". They realised that they often got a better reception than the bands they were dancing to so they decided to form a band. With the addition of Lee Brennan, whom they met at at a road show 911 was born.
Their debut single, a remake of the Shalamar classic "Night to remember", was released in April '96 and peaked at No.38.
Next came "Love Sensation" in August 1996 which charted at #21. This song was featured in the 1997 film "Casper 2: A Spirited Beginning" and became the band's first U.S. single.
Shortly there after, they were signed to Virgin records and had their first top 10 hit "Don't make me wait" in October.
To date 911 has score with 5 more top 10 hits: "The day we find love", "Bodyshakin'", "The Journey", "Party people .... Friday night" and their current single "All I want is you".
