A Force You Want to Relinquish-Chapter 2

One week later, Daniel stepped through the door of his house, exhausted. Good to be home he thought with a swell of relief as his dog ran to the door. " Hey, hey, bud. Miss me?" he bent over and patted the dog. " Where's Michelle?"
" Right here, behind you," a hand on his shoulder followed a familiar voice. He turned around and saw his girlfriend standing there. " Welcome back," she said and kissed his cheek. " Tiring tour or what?" " Tiring, you'll never know," replied Daniel and made the exaggerated motions of somebody hot and tired.     Daniel was holding his sides with laughter at the latest episode of The Simpsons. Michelle sat beside him on the couch, looking amused. " Ladies and gentlemen, the real life of Daniel Jones, laughing at kid cartoons 24 hours a day,"she teased. Daniel pulled Michelle into his lap and rested his head on her shoulder. " I bet you can't go an entire episode without laughing," he challenged. " Oh, is that so? Watch me," Michelle smirked. " See, you laughed already!" " Not at the TV show!" defied Michelle, laughing hard. Daniel made no reply and held her closer to him.
A few moments passed silently, and out of nowhere, Michelle released a piercing shriek and twisted forcefully from Daniel's grasp.
