A Force You Want to Relinquish-Chapter 3

"Michelle?" Daniel asked immediately in concern. Michelle glanced at her
neck, looking pained. Below the base of her neck was a red blotch, looking
something like a burn scabbed over. " What did that?" Michelle looked athim.
" I don't know," her breath was heavy with worry. The splotch had begun to
break and a watery blood was dripping from it. Michelle slapped her hand over
her neck to keep the blood from flowing onto her shirt. " I've got a case of
bandages in the bathroom cabinet. I think you need one," advised Daniel.
Michelle nodded and left the room.
Daniel waited until Michelle had returned, her neck patched up heavily with
Band-Aids. " Hope that'll be okay," said Daniel.
Michelle looked at her watch. " Oh, gee. It's getting late. I'd better
go," she said nervously and disappeared.
The following evening, Daniel rushed from his house. Darren is going to kill
me he thought, frustrated as he started up his car and sped across town.

" He'll come, Darren," assured the back-up singer, Anna Maria. " There he is
now."	Daniel's late arrival made him noticeable to the fans still outside, who
surrounded him until security came and cleared them away. " Where the hell
were you!" snapped Darren when Daniel came backstage. " Does a minor headache
mean anything to you, big boss man," retorted Daniel. " Can you two just cool
it," interjected Anna Maria, annoyed. " We're going on now. Come on," added
Ben.	Daniel, despite his headache, gave a good show and remained on good terms
with Darren for the rest of the evening.
Late amidst the night Daniel awoke, covered with cold sweat and feeling
dizzy. Damn, I think I'm sick Daniel thought with dismay and made his way
through the darkness to the kitchen for some Aspirin. In the mirror he
noticed once again the necklace. No way. That's absolutely impossible and
another wave of uncertainty passed over him. After swallowing a few of the
pills, he turned back to bed. The medicine had calmed him down and made him
feel a little better, for now at least.
