A Force You Want to Relinquish-Chapter 4

Whatever words were thrown into the long-lasting guarantee on the Aspirin,
Daniel knew by now that they had all but truth in them, when he woke up the
next morning feeling half-dead. This so-called "disease" was really taking
its toll.
The dog was lying silently at the foot of his bed, and moved only when Daniel
did, following him down the stairs, but eventually gave up on him when he
realized Daniel had taken little notice of him.
Daniel had skipped even the simplest breakfast, with a sickening feeling
toward any food, even satay chicken itself. He was lying on the couch for a
good part of the morning, his mind blank with only occasional ideas that faded
quickly. Michelle wasn't around, Darren for that matter. His dog was company

grumbled Daniel. " Geeze, well, you're right, you're not looking all that
well," Michelle took off her coat and set down whatever she was carrying. She
wrapped her arms around him. " God, I can even feel it in you," she commented
with a hint of worry. " I wish I could stay but I've got a ton of stuff to do
tonight." " That's okay, wouldn't want you to catch any of it." Michelle
smiled weakly and the two kissed quickly and Michelle, glancing at the
necklace as she exited.
Driving home that night, Michelle did some thinking, and suspected deep
within her that maybe, just maybe, the necklace had something to do with it
and she had her reasons...
