A Force You Want to Relinquish-Chapter 9
Daniel fumbled in the door, frightened dramatically and exhausted. Even his
dog seemed worried and whimpered as he leaned against the door, his breath
heavy and his eyes wild. Daniel practically stopped breathing, and moments
later a sharp pain ripped through his body. He couldn't think, and only to
call Darren. He waited for several minutes, lying on the ground, excruciated.
Darren finally picked up.
"Darren..."
"Daniel!" Darren choked out and felt his intensity rising. Daniel was in
trouble.
"Daniel, stay afloat for a second. I-I-I'm getting help," he said again. "
Darren..." and they were gone.
Darren slammed down the phone as his wife, Colby appeared in the room,
concerned. " What's wrong?" she asked immediately. Darren turned to her
rapidly." Call 911. Daniel's passed."
" I need radio pulse here!" a paramedic shouted out as a team of emergency
doctors rushed Daniel, unconscious on a stretcher, through the long, winding
corridors of the emergency care unit. " What happened here?" another yelledout.
" They don't know. He was just passed when they reached him," a reply came
from another. They had been quite frantic, enough so they didn't notice
anything but Daniel's heartbeat, breathing and pulse.
The necklace gleamed.
