Mmmkay, so technically this isn't a musing, and it's not really a blog. Maybe it is. I'm not even really sure what a blog's purpose is. Web terminology isn't my strong point. Oh, I have this thing, and it's all hand-coded HTML, but that's only because I have computer-smart friends. :) Most of the HTML you see was copied right from Ally's defunct 'Files of 424B' (circa 2000-2001), and Sarah's going to do a professional site for me once I, um, become a professional in like a year or so. heh. So this is new, henna? (hahaha) Umm, I don't update this page that much. It's a time crunch. A funderful game for me is going to see how long it takes me to update the menu bar on every page of this site with the new Musings link. Actually, it'll be links, once I get multiple musings on this page. I'm working on one now, kinda a reflection on 2003 and my sports teams. I love sports, if you haven't noticed, and 2003 sucked ass for all of my teams, for the most part. Seriously, if the Cardinals hadn't scored that last second TD against the Vikings, I'd be even more bitter right about now. Enough of that, or I'll never have a complete musing. I've also been tinkering with the idea of setting up some of my short stories on here. I had the original website from when I was 16, and right around the same time is when I started writing. Scratch that. I used to visit family in the summers, and my cousins and I had started a "Writers' Club" of sorts. We worked on short stories that whole week, and we were planning on mailing copies of what we had written back and forth to each other. Mind you, this was like 1990, 1991, somewhere in there. My parents never got a computer until 1995 or so, when we started with AOL (and 9 years later, we end up with Compuserve, aka AOL Lite? WTF?) so emailing the drafts to each other was unheard of to us. Suffice it to say the Writers' Club perished kinda quickly. Heh, I'm rambling, I like this concept. Yeah, so, I've long since lost the story I had written when I was 11, but I started again when I went away to college. Had my own laptop, made life easier. I think I've got the start of about 16 short stories on my laptop, none of which are any good, but I might eventually throw them on here. Who knows? I think that's it for now. I'm tired of typing. I'm hoping to update with musings about the bridge between education and the real world (as I'm starting a transition phase now), the 2003 Miserable Year in Sports for Me, the advancement of technology in my lifetime (or, why am I so freaking amused by ringtones), and probably an introspective on why I cannot live without my PS2, even though I suck at the games I own. No, really, I wouldn't even dream of attempting FFXXICMLQR or whatever it's up to... I can't beat my "Rated E for Everyone" Scooby Doo game. That would be it for now. Browse around n enjoy the site. |
