Review of Backstreet Boys Concert

First of all I would like to say that the concert on the 10th of June 1999 at the M.E.N arena in Manchester was excellent. Tatiyana Ali was the supporting artist and she was really good.

At around 9.00pm the lights went off and everyone started screaming as the backing band entered the stage. Altogether there were 6 members of the band William Brian was the band leader and he played the drums, Next there was Billy Chaplin and Dennis Gallo on the Guitars, on the bass was Louis Vigilante, on the keyboards there was John Smith and finally playing percussion, sax and keys was Mindi Abair.

As the band positioned themselves next to their instruments the spotlights were aimed at a pole and the Backstreet Boys flew onto stage on snowboards. As they detached themselves from the wires and the fans were screaming as loud as they can Nick, Kevin, AJ, Brian and Howie began to sing. After they had sung the first few songs the Backstreet Boys had already introduced themselves to the fans not that they needed any introduction anyway!. Many songs were sung off the first and second album and quite a few were sung off the third album as well including near the end the recent and great version of I Want it That Way. In the middle of the concert, after a costume change, the Backstreet Boys re-entered looking even better than before and positioned themselves around the stage as the dancers attached them to wires. As the music started they lifted up and flew out into the audience above their heads doing somersaults in the air. As they landed the Backstreet Boys began to sing again and the crowd went wild. In the middle of the show the Backstreet Boys bought 5 pairs of mums and daughters up on stage so they could sing a song that Brian had wrote for his mum.

Toward the end of the concert the fans were beginning to loose their voices from screaming too much but despite that the screaming continued. I have to say though that my favourite part was the ending although I was sad to see them go but it was excellent because all the fireworks set off and something exploded from the ceiling releasing millions of strips of silver and clear paper onto the audience below. That is where the concert ended. The Backstreet Boys said their good-byes to the audience and Nick, Kevin, Aj Brian and Howie left leaving the audience with the memory of a brilliant concert.

All in all the Backstreet boys, the Band and everyone else who put all the effort in to the concert deserve a massive well done from the all fans for giving us all such a great night out.

Loads of luv Becky Knight
