Dear Friend,
The sky is heavy with snow as I put pen to paper. Winter drew me close to her and I was affected by that destructive element so characteristic in her nature. But, I am feeling much better now what with the "whisper of spring" and all that.
To state the purpose of this letter, I must first explain that I have wished for some years now to create a small periodical magazine, where-in I may print my work. In hope that under the shell of poetry, people, such as yourself, would feel prompted to compose for me in return. And feel joyous relief by simply communicating feelings of sadness and happiness. Something like "our" magazine, you could say.
What do you think? The page, upon which I write, is the humble beginnings of the dream.
Donovan's Isle lies off the coast of "everywhere" along latitude "life," longitude "joy." She had been deserted for many an age until my friends and I were happily wrecked. From the sweet refreshing bird song forests to the long white sands she bathes beneath the sungod. The daughter of the merry mountain has awakened from her long-time dream and with soft blond child hair, she runs to meet the ships that arrive every day.
