Comments: A truly remarkable talent, given that we live in an era when descriptors are often grossly exaggerated. For example, we hear about a great live performance, when,truthfully, it was probably no better than ordinary. I like all of his material - especiall the ditty about the Purple People Eater meeting the Witchdoctor - a very clever lyric and strong beat. A pity he has played second string to Buddy Holly. His records are still played on Australian radio stations and many younger kids have heard of him.

Comments: The night after the plane crash was my best friend's birthday party. All the kids were upset about Buddy Holly and Richie Valens. I didn't know what they were upset about. To me, The Big Bopper was the important guy who was killed. It's years later and I ave children who are in their teens. They can sing Chantilly Lace. It's been a road song for us. I visited the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay back in December. It was the place they all played the night before their last show. It was great to have my pic ure taken in front of the building. It was good to connect at last.
