Grover's Headache is firmly
established in the music scene of Southern California.
Although the band has endured numerous lineup changes
since it's inception in September of 1995, Grover's
Headache has a reputation for producing remarkably
original, high quality music for all to enjoy. With the
primary influence being 3rd wave ska, the unique style of
Grover's Headache is also credited to influences in
alternative, punk, glam rock, funk, reggae, jazz,
classical, hip hop, and metal. Thoughtful vocals and
intricate horn lines, layered over a clean and crisp
rhythm section, provide the trademark sound of Grover's
Headache, with each memeber adding a different element to
the mix. Grover's Headache performed it's first show when the band was only two months old. As Grover's Headache continued to perform with larger, well known acts, more diverse venues presented themselves. In addition to performance in local concert halls and theaters, Grover's Headache has had unique experiences perfroming at a Baptist church, a Jewish community center, in an alley way, at a Sadie Hawkins dance, a winter formal, and a Christmas party at the Coach House. Additionally, the opportunity to perform in diverse locations began to present itself with multiple shows in Palm Springs, Vicotrville, Riverside, Santa Barbara, and Las Vegas. At the dawn of the summer of 1996, Grover's Headache began recording for a demo cassette entitled Ain't Frontin'. This cassette was released in November after a live apperance on the Ska Parade radio show on KUCI in Irvine which confirmed the fact that Grover's Headache is a household name in Orange County. Ain't Frontin' was met with ever increasing sales, which led Grover's Headache to begin recording for an EP compact disc entitled Party For One. Upon the release of Party For One, Grover's Headache will be touring the western United States. |
