"What?" Annie asked again. The voice stopped responding and the music
started to play again.
What I need is a good defense
'Cause I'm feelin' like a criminal
And I need to be redeemed
To the one I've sinned against
Because he's all I ever knew of love
"Look, I don't know what kind of sick joke you think this is-" Annie started.
but was cut off by the dial tone.
"Hello? Hello? Damn!" she swore and pushed the off button, then placed
the phone back in it's cradle.
"What the hell was that?" she asked herself, "I don't know who would play
such a sick joke....Damn that scared the crap out of me!" she said then
looked at the clock.
"OK, it's 11 o' clock now, might as study for a few hours."
She got off her bed and pulled up a chair to her desk. She opened
Microsoft word and found her essay on endangered species and tried to
concentrate. A couple of minutes later all she had was the first sentence,
which was already there when she started. She gave up on the idea of trying
to write the essay, so she closed windows and picked up her text book,
figuring maybe she could get some reading done. An hour later she hadn't
gotten past the first page.
"Ugh! This is useless! I'm never going to get any studying done! Why did
that stupid person have to call me!" she thought out loud, then closed her
text book and decided to just go over to the college early. 'It'll do me good
to get some air, maybe it'll clear my mind,' she thought. She grabbed a towel
and headed into the bathroom, there was one connected to her room, so she
didn't have to go in the hall.
After she came out of the shower she decided on a blue 3/4 sleeve shirt
and a short black skirt. She put her up in a ponytail and left a curl out on
the side. She put on a little lipgloss and pink eye shadow, then slipped on a
pair of black high heels. She grabbed her keys and purse and went down stairs
closing her bedroom door after her. She heard someone whistle and she stopped
before she went out the door.
"Wow, someone's dressed up!" A.J. commented.
"Thank you, but I have to look nice, I'm going to the college to pick
something up and register. I want to give a good first impression."
"Still, it's taking all my will power not to come over there and..."
"Don't even think about it! Brian will kick your butt! Not to mention
me," she said shaking her finger at him.
"That scrawny little boyfriend of yours? Oh I'm so scared!" A.J. said
sarcastically.
"Hey! Good things come in small packages!"
"Mmm, hmm."
"ANYWAY! I have to get going, Bye!"
"Later, chica!" A.J. called after her as she closed the door.

~Annie's view~
I pulled up to the college about an hour later. Sure it was far from my
house, but this was one of the best colleges in Orlando. I was determined to
get in no matter what, I was sure they were going to accept me once they got
a look at my test scores. All the studying I was doing I was sure to ace it.

Brian got into his car and pulled out of his driveway. 'Annie won't mind
if I stop by to see her. Especially since I have a surprise for her,' he
thought as he pulled onto the highway.

Annie sat in the car a minute reviewing all the pamphlets and forms the
college gave her.
"Geez, I have to fill out all this stuff. Now I remember why I didn't
apply sooner," she thought out loud then placed all the papers in the
passengers seat. She buckled her seat belt and revved up the engine. She
pulled out into the street and was about to get on the highway.
"Too crowded, I'll take the back streets," she said then laughed at
herself, "Backstreets, everything reminds me Brian."
She adjusted her mirror and noticed a car behind her, it was pretty close
to her car. Just to be on the safe side she turned where she wasn't supposed
to turn to see if the car was following her. She let out a sigh of relief
when she saw the car go straight.
"Oh man! I need to get ahold of myself, I'm starting to get paranoidshe thought, looking in her
mirror to make sure no one else was following her.
But this time when she checked her mirror, she noticed another car that
had been going the same way as her for a while.
"I don't think that's a coincidence," she thought then made a couple more
turns and the car was right behind her on every one.
"Oh my God! This guy is following me! I've got to lose him," she said
then kept making all these wild turns, but she wasn't paying attention to
where she was going because when she tried to turn again she couldn't. She
had driven herself right into a dead end. She started to get even more scared
when she saw the guy in the car get out and walk towards her.
"Oh my God! Oh my God! What am I going to do?....OH! I'll hit him with
the safety bar," she thought then reached in the back seat and grabbed it,
grasping the bar tightly in her hands. Waiting for her attacker.
