It was the beginning of March when we bought the tickets. After waiting two long months, finally the great day came!
We arrived in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna) at noon: nobody was there, yet. We tried to guess which was the best gate (the nearest to the stage and also the first one to be opened!). Then we quitely sat down (we were not in a hurry!) and started to eat. While waiting, the weather changed several times: first it was sunny, then it got windy, it started to rain (like the last time Sting played in Bologna in 1993!), and finally it was sunny again (...All four seasons in one day!!). Finally, at 7:30 the gates were opened and we started to run as fast as possible to get the best places. We didn't even notice the policemen who tried to stop us and check our bags (where our camera was hidden!!). At the end, we were safe in the first row, waiting for God!! At 9 o'clock, the concert opened with an Italian singer, Antonella Ruggero, who sang for about 40 minutes. At 9:45, finally He came out on the dark stage. He wore a "zebra" black and white shirt, black leather trousers and a black jacket, that he took off after a couple of songs. He started with "Hounds of Winter", followed by the other songs of the new album (except from "I'm so happy I can't stop crying" and "La Belle Dame sans Regret"). Then he moved to "Seven Days", "If I ever lose...", "If you love somebody...", "Englishman in New York". It was wonderful when he started to sing the old Police songs, like "Roxanne", "Every little thing...", "Synchronicity II", "Every breath you take", "Demolition Man", "When the world..." (with a great solo by Kenny Kirkland, like in the "Bring on the Night" tour!). After making us think that the concert was over, he came out for the last time to say us goodbye with a wonderful, poetic "Fragile". We waved our lighters in the air and somebody started to cry. Unfortunately this was the end.
