Here are the results and answers for Gerald's Lyrics Quiz #03. 40 entries to this edition make me feel very proud indeed :)

There was only one song in the quiz that hasn't been identified. For the others I received at least 2 correct entries per song which means that there are no double bonus points awarded for the very first time.

Before disclosing the answers let's take a look at the scoreboard. There was yet another name change for a team as last edition's "Fix & Foxi"are now listed as "Pinky & The Brain" (yet I'm sorry to announce that for the first time they didn't take over the quiz universe ;) ):

Love's Crashing Waves0139
This was obviously the toughest one in the quiz.
Chris Difford and GlennTilbrook are very talented British songwriters most famous for ther work in the band Squeeze. Love's Crashing Waves made it to the UK Top 40 in the 80's. If you're into the likes of Squeeze, Elvis Costello a.o. I can highly recommend their album to you.

I decided to make this a [c]-question as this may not be a very common line from that song. Anyway I would have considered this one amongst the easier [c]'s but only 7 out of 40 came up with the correct answer ;)

[a]

For an uptown boy
Artist / Titlecorrectincorrectnot answered
GEORGE MICHAEL23314
One More Try16816
A lot of controversy was going on about this one. It seemed quite obvious that this was a George Michael song. The trouble was that this song doesn't really provide a chorus. So a lot of people concluded the given line "who's teacher has told him goodbye" and suggested "Teacher"or "Goodbye" to be the title.
Same thing happened to me when I wanted to tape this song earlier this year and had to look up the lyrics sheet to find out which song it was. Quite a shame as this was #1 in theBillboard Hot 100 for I believe 3 weeks... ;)

[b]

And if you laughed you'd level this town
Hey lonely girl that's just the point
Artist / Titlecorrectincorrectnot answered
MENTAL AS ANYTHING3136
Live It Up3037
I didn't believe this was so tough. It's still being played on our local radio stations a lot. Before I posted the additional lines only Aaron Humphrey came up with the corrrect answer. Aaron: sorry to steal the double bonus from you by posting the hint ;)
Anyway DOT and Pinky & The Brain came up with the correct one at the last minute.

[c]

I didn't expect Missing Persons to still be so popular (if they ever were). 11 correct entries are still amazing to me....

[PACK 6]

Artist / Titlecorrectincorrectnot answered
OMC9130
How Bizarre9130
Another controversial one. This is really big all over Europe at the moment, though the band comes from New Zealand. However, they didn't make it in the US so far which I unfortunately found out after posting the quiz...

BTW: Dec14 I received the following message from Simon Grigg (sgrigg@ihug.co.nz) regarding this subject:
Hi There,
How Bizarre is released in USA on 24 Feb.
Simon (for OMC)
