- If you can't get your hands on one of Louis' luxury leather footballs, then buy the book featuring celebrities who did. Legend has it that in the late Eighties your average supermodel wouldn't consider getting out of bed for less than £10,000. It's a good job things have changed or Louis Vuitton's quest to raise money for UNICEF might well have fallen at the first hurdle. The luxury goods specialists have spent the last twelve months capturing no fewer than 165 writers, artists and stars of show business, the media, sport, business and politics posing with their World Cup footballs for 'Rebounds', a unique new book, proceeds from which will go to the world-famous children's charity. Everyone from the Manchester City-mad Noel Gallagher to actors Micahel Caine, Harvey Keitel and John Travolta gave up their time, free of charge, to be photographed for the book.
- The hand-stiched, leather football with the Louis Vuitton monogram was originally released as a limited-edition collectors' item last summer to mark the start of the World Cup finals in France. Despite sellng out within minutes, a number of balls were held back to be used as props in a collection of photographs that began as a mini-project and labour of love for photographer Xavier Lambours and Louis Vuitton vice-president Jean-Marc Loubier.
