- Benefit gigs: a rum do, eh, readers? Rhyme and reason fly out of the window, commercial and ethical considerations blurring rather too conveniently...
- Tonight's surprise (hmmmm...) guest is Noel Gallagher. It's a little ironic that the greatest part of this evening's entertainment comes from the man who acknowledges that acoustic segments are "the boring bits", though it's a shame that each song is bellowed along to and totally annihilated by a group of five beer-boys, managing to ruin "Stand By Me", "Talk Tonight", "Wonderwall" and what would otherwise have been a really-quite-moving rendition of The Beatles' "Help!"
- Gary Rhodes [celebrity chef] is upstairs in the posh bit, nodding his head. That hair doesn't move, but - hey! - his conscience is obviously moved by this heartwarming sentiment of Noel's songs for the Dockers...
