- "Liam And Patsy Attacked
- Liam Gallagher's "hardman of rock" reputation took a battering last week after the Oasis singer reportedly confessed to being "terrified" when he and wife Patsy Kensit were attacked by football afns as they sat in their car in central London traffic.
- The tabloids quoted Liam as saying: "I was absolutely terrified. Patsy's OK, but shaken up." The star pair were spotted in Marylebone High Street on Saturday 27 March by fans on their way to the England v Poland Euro 2000 match at Wembley.
- Patsy's black BMW was allegedly surrounded by "screaming, drunken yobs" who shouted abuse before pelting the car with beer bottles and finally hurling a brick through the back window.
- Patsy - still denying reports that she is expecting Liam's baby in October - was driving and eventually managed to pull away, but the pair were said to be so upset by the hostilities they subsequently abandoned the car and fled on foot to their home in Primrose Hill. An onlooker described the scene as "really ugly".
- A spokesman for Oasis said he doubted Liam was "coweing in fear". He added: "I spoke to him in the afternoon and he and Patsy were fine."
- A spokesman for Scotland Yard said no charges could be brought because the witness who telephoned the police to report the incident could make no positive identification of Patsy's number plate or identify the assailants.
- Meanwhile, Creation A&R man Paul Gallagher got married last Monday 29 March to fiancee Dawn Harrington - but he wasn't able to invite his brothers for fear of attracting a "media circus". Instead the ceremony went ahead quietly at London Marylebone Register Office with only two guests - and a photographer from The Sun who hung around outside after being tipped-off about the event.
- Noel was busy making last-minute preparations for Oasis' recording sessions, due to begin this week, while Liam was pictured out shopping with Patsy in west London. Both were said to have phoned the groom with their good wishes on the morning of the wedding.
- Paul was quoted as saying, "There is no feud between me and my brothers. I wanted them to be there." A spokesman said: "I'm sure they would love to have gone, but it would just have changed the shape of the day. It was meant to be private just to avoid all the attention. Paul didn't want it to be a media circus."
- Liam reportedly denied knowing about the wedding, but then added: "I wish him all the best. I was out shopping." The spokesman said: "Both Liam and Noel do wish Paul and Dawn all the best, as we all do here at Creation. We're all really pleased for them."
- In other Oasis-related news, Noel's wife, party-fixer and A-list celebrity Meg Mathews, has landed a £100,000 deal to front an ad campaign for Vladivar vodka.
